Game Of Thrones: War For The Throne Officially Arrives September 2026

The Game of Thrones franchise is in a bit of a funny place right now, after the end of the main show left a bad taste in the collective mouths of fans. George RR Martin also doesn't seem to be making much progress with the next book in the series, so much so that many fans are now assuming that they will never get to read it at all.

The green shoots of hope are present though, with spin-off series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon showing that the IP still has legs. On the gaming front, the upcoming strategy title War for Westeros could easily be one of the best games in the genre releasing in the next 12 months.

Outside of that, existing adaptations are still ticking along nicely as well, and one in particular is about to receive a major update that should refresh the experience for both new and returning players.

Over on the official website for Game of Thrones: Conquest, developer Warner Bros. Games confirmed a series of upcoming events and exciting initiatives for the game, as part of the Dragonseeds update.

The headline act this time around is the addition of the Dragonseed Gear Set, which allows you to equip your cavalry with items that buff their stats massively. At the same time, Alys Rivers and Hugh Hammer have been added to the game as new heroes, and the Ever-Ready Warrior Saddle makes its debut as the latest piece of Dragon Gear.

The development team also let us know about a raft of events that are running throughout September, including War For the Throne, a PvP clash that runs from September 25-27. The full list of different events running over the rest of the month is as follows:

At the same time, HBO and Warner Bros. have several new Game of Thrones spin-offs, prequels, and movies in different stages of production and development. House of the Dragon will end with Season 4 in 2028, while A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is more open ended. The Aegon's Conquest feature film is also on the way in the next couple of years, while there are two animated series in development as well.
