Hailee Steinfeld Says Motherhood Deepened Her Connection to Hexed

Hailee Steinfeld Details Home Life With Josh Allen, Daughter Harper

Hailee Steinfeld is excited for most girls to see her upcoming movie Hexed, but most of all her daughter.

The “Most Girls” singer—who shares 4-month-old daughter Harper with husband Josh Allen—revealed how it feels to work on her first project since becoming a mom, as well as how motherhood allowed her to foster a special connection to the Disney animated film.

“It feels amazing,” Steinfeld exclusively told E! News at the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event Aug. 14. “The fact that this is a mother-daughter story is so special and it's touched me so deeply, this story and this character of Billie.”

Steinfeld voices Billie Doe in the film, which “follows a teenage oddball and her Type A mom, who discovers her weirdness is actually hidden magic, transporting them to a world where magic can run free,” according to the movie’s description.

“I'm just so excited for my baby girl to see this one day,” Steinfeld explained, “and for the world to see this and embrace these characters and this story for everything that it is. It is pure magic.”

Recently, the Sinners star shared deeper insight into how motherhood has changed her since welcoming her daughter in April.

“Blame the new mom (or Mother Goose) in me, but I’ve been really sentimental about art recently,” Steinfeld wrote in the July 24 edition of her Beau Society Substack. “The other day I saw a beautiful framed print of a foal and its mom, and I could not stop staring at it.”

The 29-year-old added, “so precious!”

And she’s not the only one who has recognized a shift since baby Harper arrived. Indeed, Allen—the starting quarterback for the Buffalo Bills—shared the upcoming NFL season is "definitely gonna be different."

"I can't tell you exactly how I'm going to feel right at this moment," Allen told E! News in July, "but it's going to be obviously a lot of FaceTimes, a lot of calls. I don't want to miss anything."

But every touchdown will be made easier knowing Steinfeld is by his side. After all, the 30-year-old credited his wife with helping him "find that balance" as a new parent.

"Kids are ever changing, and so is your schedule," Allen continued, adding that he's "trying to ride the wave right now and enjoy.”
