Known as 'Cyberpunk 2077's' biggest fan, Angharad is a Welsh games writer who thrives in anything related to digital storytelling. If a video game explores the intricacies and horrors of womanhood, she is there.
Thanks to previous work at GAMINGbible, GameByte, The Loadout, Game Luster, Angharad has built a strong understanding of both the digital world and what fans want from it and is eager to share her thoughts and expertise with readers.
Praised for its world design, characters, combat, and faithfulness to its source material, Hogwarts Legacy was a success, going on to become the best-selling video game release of 2023. Inspired by the magical world of Harry Potter, the RPG by Avalanche Software took us back over a century before the events of the beloved book and movie series, showing us what some of the earlier days of Hogwarts was like for your average student.
However, despite selling over $12 million copies in just two weeks, Hogwarts Legacy has had its fair share of controversy, beginning with the allegations of hate speech from Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling to the lack of post-game content that has been released since the game's launch. Other than a brief Summer update which included a handful of cosmetics, Avalanche Software has not included any major content updates for Hogwarts Legacy, instead turning its attention to the sequel, which many believe could launch as early as next year.
In the meantime, however, fans have been left disappointed with no incentive to return to the game for multiple playthroughs, as well as feeling as though much of the game's open-world has been underutilized. That is where the modding community comes in, as they have come up with ways to keep Hogwarts Legacy alive, whether that is adding brand-new quests, new activities, and even locations to explore.
However, for modder Zorya Moon over on Curse Forge, they have found a way to expand on one important part of any RPG: its fashion.
Yes, the majority of the time in Hogwarts Legacy, you will be wearing your school uniform. However, fashion is still key, and this modder has found a way to make the in-game Photo Mode all the more useful. The mod, titled Poolside Loungewear, does exactly what it says on the tin by introducing brand-new swimwear cosmetics to the game.
"You've mastered spells. You've fought dark wizards. Now master... relaxing," the mod description reads. Poolside Loungewear comes alongside four female and four male outfits "perfect for lounging by the pool on hot summer days." It also includes a sunhat for the witches, and pool floaties for both male and female, which can be found under the robes category. Featuring beautiful sundresses, patterned shirt and short combos, and adorable floaties, including a rogue unicorn, any Photo Mode enjoyer would definitely be inspired to have a photoshoot in these new additions.
So, if you wish to liven up your days off in Hogwarts Legacy, make sure to take advantage of this free download, which could see you take to the pool in style.
