How to get coralum ore in Palworld

In Palworld, coralum ore is a special crafting material that you need once you reach the late stages of the game. With this red ore, you can make coralum ingots, a level 62 item that you need to craft weapons like the energy shotgun, and important structures like the ancient furnace.

Unlike ore and pure quartz, you can't collect coralum ore from rocks. They can only be found in the vast sea or within specific Pals. If you want to know more, here's how to get coralum ore in Palworld.

You can either obtain coralum ore by salvaging debris found in the ocean or from hunting Whalaskas. While the former is quicker, you must spend time searching for salvageable debris at sea. On the other hand, hunting a specific Pal to farm a material is not the best option, since the number of Pals you may find is limited. There is, however, a way to speed the process up by breeding them.

The method you will use depends not only on the resources available to you, but also on how much coralum ore you need. If you only need some, focus on salvaging. However, if you want to have a large supply of this material, consider the breeding method. Below, we explain both methods in detail.

How to salvage coralum ore in Palworld

While riding a water Pal, you can salvage debris found in the ocean as long as you have a fishing rod. The best one you can use is the advanced fishing rod, which you unlock at level 45. To salvage debris found in high-level areas, like around the Isle of the Glacial Core, you will also need to have powerful fishing magnets (technology level 62) in your inventory. It's possible to obtain coralum ore from debris located around low-level zones, but the drop rate seems to be lower than in high-level spots that require powerful fishing magnets.

Whenever you salvage some debris, you must play a minigame where you press F on the keyboard or X/Square on the controller at the right moment. Failing the minigame does not make the salvage point disappear, nor does it consume your fishing magnet, so you can try as many times as you want.

You can find salvagable debris all along the coast, and even in the middle of the ocean.

Whalaska is Pal #150 and one of the materials it drops is coralum ore. Hunting and catching them might give you some, but if you want to obtain a large amount of this material, you should consider breeding Whalaskas. If you don't know where to find them, visit the Isle of the Glacial Core on the northern part of the map.

You'll need to capture a male and a female Whalaska and place them in the breeding farm with cake in the farm chest. After some time, collect the eggs that appear and use a large incubator to hatch them. This will give you a consistent source of Whalaskas.

Next, build a Pal disassembly conveyor, which you unlock at level 56. Open the machine and put the Whalakas you have inside it. The machine will, well, disassemble the Pals and at the end of the line, you will obtain the materials. Among them, you will always get at least one coralum ore.

Neptilius also drops coralum ore (and it's an Alpha battle on the same island listed above), so you can also breed Neptilius instead of Whalaska, but Whalska will be easier to hunt down and collect.
