The official end of the summer isn't back-to-school day. It's not Labor Day. Nope, it's Gamescom Opening Night Live day, the second Geoff Keighley-hosted world premieres showcase of each year that kicks off the gaming trade event in Cologne, Germany which signals the end of the Gregorian Calendar's videogame 'announcements season' and the beginning of traditional 'release season,' to those who observe the old ways. It's live during German hours, though, so here's when to watch Opening Night Live if you hail from some other slice of the globe.

What's confirmed for Opening Night Live?

As always, ONL host Geoff Keighley has already confirmed (some of) the games that will be in the show. We don't always know what each one is planning to announce—though sometimes it's easy to guess—just who's on the call sheet. Here's what he's revealed ahead of time:

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

Lauren has been writing for PC Gamer since she went hunting for the cryptid Dark Souls fashion police in 2017. She joined the PCG staff in 2021, now serving as self-appointed chief cozy games and farmlife sim enjoyer. Her career originally began in game development and she remains fascinated by how games tick in the modding and speedrunning scenes. She likes long fantasy books, longer RPGs, can't stop playing co-op survival crafting games, and has spent a number of hours she refuses to count building houses in The Sims games for over 20 years.
