After playing Eleven in Stranger Things for nearly a decade, Millie Bobby Brown has become one of the most popular actors on Netflix. While she's taken her talents to movie theaters for appearances in the Monsterverse franchise, subscribers are accustomed to seeing the 22-year-old British star at the forefront of major Netflix original programming.

As Stranger Things proved time and time again, Netflix productions with Brown at the center can become worldwide hits. That's what has enabled Enola Holmes to become a franchise. After two well-received and wildly popular installments, the actress is on the verge of returning to that detective world once more.

This is thanks to Enola Holmes 3 coming out in exactly three weeks on July 1, 2026. Not only will the release mark Millie Bobby Brown's anticipated Netflix return after Stranger Things, but it holds extra significance now, thanks to the star needing to reclaim a spot among Netflix's movies ever.

Millie Bobby Brown Has Been Knocked Out Of Netflix's Most-Watched Movies List Ahead Of Enola Holmes 3

Just weeks before Enola Holmes 3 debuts on Netflix, Brown has seen herself get pushed out of the streamer's most elite list. For the last two years, she has been able to say she's the star of one of Netflix's most-watched movies ever thanks to Damsel. The fantasy film accumulated 138 million views during its first 91-days of release in 2024.

That was enough for Damsel to climb to 8th on Netflix's all-time movie chart. By early 2025, it had dropped to 9th due to Carry-On's release, and it fell to 10th later in the year once Back in Action came out. This made it only a matter of time before another major Netflix original movie came out and knocked Damsel out of the top 10 altogether.

This officially happened last week, as Alan Ritchson's sci-fi movie War Machine got to 139 million views; it now has 139.9 million views and has moved into 9th place. But with this movie's ascension, Brown has been completely removed from Netflix's most popular movies list. She's still very present in the TV version with the last two seasons of Stranger Things, but now she's searching for a chance to re-enter the movie side.

Could Enola Holmes 3 Become Millie Bobby Brown's Biggest Netflix Movie Yet?

That makes Enola Holmes 3's arrival in a few weeks a big moment for the young actress. After seeing Damsel tumble out of the top 10 forever, her new franchise sequel becomes an opportunity to reclaim a spot. It just needs to become Brown's biggest Netflix movie to date. That is easier said than done, though.

The Enola Holmes movies have clearly been successful enough for Netflix to greenlight a sequel each time, but they aren't quite as popular as the streamer's biggest hits. Netflix confirmed Enola Holmes reached 76 million households in its first four weeks of release in 2020, but provided no additional viewership data after that. Enola Holmes 2 spent four weeks in Netflix's global top 10, garnering 158.03 million hours watched, which is the equivalent of 72.9 million views.

While both movies certainly drew in millions more viewers in the weeks that followed, neither was nearly as big as Damsel. The 2024 film pulled in 115.9 million views in its first four weeks. That creates quite a challenge for Brown with Enola Holmes 3. The threequel will need to be the most popular entry in the franchise by a large margin to have a chance of beating Damsel's viewership and securing a spot in the top 10.

The argument for that happening is solely tied to Brown. She's a bigger star now than she was when the previous movies came out, as Damsel proved. Her popularity might not have translated to The Electric State, but now that Stranger Things is over, demand to see her again and the familiarity of the detective franchise are the best reasons why Enola Holmes 3 could smash viewership records for the franchise and Brown.
