Kyle Busch’s Wife Samantha Busch Breaks Silence on His Sudden Death
NASCAR Driver Kyle Busch Celebrated His Kids' Birthdays Days Before His Death
Kyle Busch will always be number one in Samantha Busch’s heart.
After the NASCAR legend died May 21 at the age of 41, his wife of 15 years—with whom he shared kids Brexton, 11, and Lennix, 4—reflected on his passing in an emotional message.
“As a family, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you,” Samantha wrote in a post shared to Instagram June 5. “The prayers, messages, flowers, meals, hugs, and countless acts of kindness have carried us through the most heartbreaking days of our lives. While our hearts are absolutely shattered, we have felt God’s presence and arms wrapped tightly around us through each and every one of you."
Samantha—who wed Kyle in 2010—also noted the effect he had on those outside of his loved ones.
"The love that has surrounded our family during this unimaginable time has brought comfort in the middle of so much pain," she added. "Knowing the impact Kyle had on others and seeing how they are honoring him through each unique act of generosity is a true testament to how special Kyle is to so many people. There are moments when the weight of this loss feels impossible to carry, yet time and time again God, through you all, has shown us we are not alone."
"From family and friends to fans and complete strangers, thank you for showing up for us," she concluded. "Thank you for loving our family so well. Thank you for loving Kyle. Thank you for honoring him. We may never find the words to fully express what your support has meant to us, but please know that we are deeply grateful."
Samantha’s touching message comes two weeks after the legendary race car driver—who became one of the most decorated in the sport’s history throughout his career—died just hours following his family’s announcement that he had been hospitalized with a “severe illness.”
“Our entire NASCAR family is heartbroken by the loss of Kyle Busch,” NASCAR shared in a May 21 statement to X. “A future Hall of Famer, Kyle was a rare talent, one who comes along once in a generation. He was fierce, he was passionate, he was immensely skilled and he cared deeply about the sport and fans.”
“Throughout a career that spanned more than two decades, Kyle set records in national series wins, won championships at NASCAR's highest level and fostered the next generation of drivers as an owner in the Truck Series,” the statement continued. “His sharp wit and competitive spirit sparked a deep emotional connection with race fans of every age, creating the proud and loyal 'Rowdy Nation.'”

Over the years, both Kyle and Samantha gave fans sweet glimpses into their family life, often sharing insight into events and celebrations spent together as a couple. Indeed, just weeks before his death, Samantha celebrated Kyle’s birthday by highlighting what she loved the most about him.
“You are the most incredible husband and father, and I thank God every single day that I get to do our crazy life by your side,” she wrote in a May 2 Instagram post. “We are so grateful for you and all the love, strength, and laughter you bring to our family. Wishing you the happiest birthday and your best year yet.”
And she meant just as much to him, as Kyle would often note.
“You’re the calm in the chaos, my biggest supporter, and the best mom to our kiddos,” he captioned a February 14 Instagram post. “Life is better and a whole lot more fun with you by my side every day.”
