Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom September DLC Marks The End Of An Era

Both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom have secured their place as some of the best games in this history of The Legend of Zelda series, and it really was an era that pushed the boundaries. The games take us into the far-flung future of the current timeline, and the open-world formula really did make Hyrule feel more real than ever before.

That said, fans are understandably keen to see what's coming next for the series, with most ready for Nintendo to reinvent the wheel yet again and give us something markedly different. That said, the next mainline single-player game in the series is likely still a way away, and we might have just been given the perfect excuse to return to the most recent entry, one last time.

This Is Our Last Excuse To Return To Wilds-Era Hyrule

As first reported by Nintendo Life, the Mineru's Construct amiibo from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is currently available for pre-order, with a release date expected next month on September 17.

Those of you who have played through the game already will remember Mineru's Construct as the gigantic mech that Link builds (and rides) to contain the titular spirit of Mineru. It's highly customizable and a real way for players to express their creativity and playstyles, as well as allowing them to navigate previously dangerous terrain.

As well as being a cool physical release in its own right, scanning the amiibo will see you rewarded with the glow-in-the-dark Sage of Spirit paraglider fabric, as well as helpful materials and items, including Zonaite, arrows, and various food.

It also has plenty of uses in other games under the Nintendo banner, including Breath of the Wild and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, where it grants access to other random, useful materials for your character. Animal Crossing: New Horizons hasn't been left out of the proverbial party either, as you are able to scan the amiibo at the NookStop terminal.

In turn, this allows you to invite Mineru's Construct to live on your island with you as a very unique custom villager, as well as unlocking access to different Zelda-themed furniture items.

What's Next For The Legend Of Zelda?

Other than the above, the next big step for the Zelda series as a whole is the release of the Ocarina of Time Remake. We haven't seen too much of that just yet, but with a release scheduled for later this year, we won't have too long to wait to find out exactly what Nintendo have been cooking up behind the scenes.
