Lego Officially Reveals New Mario Sets That Fans Have Been Begging For

Mario Kart, Bowser's Castle, and more will finally be available in minifigure form

Nintendo and Lego’s partnership continues to go strong. Lego Group just fully revealed its new Super Mario set at Gamescom, featuring a long-awaited addition: minifigures. As teased earlier this year, the Super Mario Range lineup will finally bring this iconic plumber down to scale.

Eight new sets were announced as part of the Mario minifigure line. Mario’s Pipe Jump features all the classic imagery you’d expect from the series: a warp pipe, Goomba, and Mario himself. A little lever on the side lets you “catapult Goomba out of the way … so Mario can collect his coin.” It seems that even in Lego land, these minions get the short end of the stick.

There are also three Mario Kart sets. One features Mario with some items, while another includes Bowser Jr. and Luigi racing. The third has four racers, including Bowser, Goomba, Toad, and the star of Mario Kart World, that cow that everyone on the internet likes.

Beyond the racing antics, there's a beach getaway where Mario surfs next to a Sidewinder, a set where Mario hangs out with Yoshi, and a showdown as Luigi battles a Koopa Troopa. Maybe the coolest of the bunch is Fire Mario & Bowser’s Castle, which, as the name implies, focuses on this big bad and his fortress. Prices range from $9.99 for the Mario’s Pipe Jump set to $99.99 for the Bowser’s Castle set, although most are on the cheaper end. The sets are scheduled for release on Jan. 1, 2027.

“This is an amazing celebration of our partnership with Nintendo, bringing Super Mario to Lego minifigure form feels like the start of something special,” said Patrick Otley, design manager at the Lego Group, in a news release. “Giving kids what they want and need to build and create their own stories and adventures was our ambition, extending and enhancing playtime through these iconic characters. We want to give our fans more freedom to play the way they want to, and with the addition of Lego Super Mario minifigures, we hope kids will be even more inspired.”

Somehow, despite dozens of sets, this is the first lineup in the Lego Super Mario collaboration to include minifigures. The crossover began in 2020 with the My First Course set, an interactive experience that mixed Lego with video game elements.
