Gosling is going from Barbie to Bamm-Bamm

Ryan Gosling has been incredibly booked and busy of late. He starred in the lead role in the sci-fi smash hit Project Hail Mary earlier this year. In 2027, he'll travel to the galaxy far, far away in Star Wars: Starfighter. Then in 2028 he'll make his long-awaited MCU debut as Ghost Rider, re-teaming with Starfighter director Shawn Levy. If all that wasn't enough, Gosling has lined up one more unexpected project: The Flintstones.

Gosling's production company, Open Invite, and Warner Bros. are in early development on a live-action Flintstones reboot centered on a grown-up Bamm-Bamm, according to Deadline. Currently, Gosling and his Open Invite partner Jessie Henderson are looking for a writer to take on the project. Later this year Open Invite will premiere the romantic drama Love of Your Life at the Toronto International Film Festival. The movie stars Margaret Qualley (The Dog Stars), Aaron Pierre (Lanterns), and Patrick Schwarzenegger (The White Lotus), among others.

Who is Bamm-Bamm in Ryan Gosling's Flintstones movie?

Bamm-Bamm first appeared as a baby in the original 1960s Hanna-Barbera cartoon, as the young son of Barney and Betty Rubble. He was depicted as a teenager in The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show in the 1970s, when he started a band with his sister Pebbles. Bamm-Bamm also appeared in the 1994 live-action Flintstones movie.

As Gosling's project is currently in early development, there is no news about who may play Bamm-Bamm or what the story will be. The big question is whether Gosling will be involved in the project beyond his role as a producer. After his widely acclaimed performance as Ken in Greta Gerwig's Barbie, it seems like the actor would be a perfect fit for Bamm-Bamm. Of course, with his schedule already so busy, he may not want to take on yet another project.

There is also the possibility of a Barbie sequel. Warner Bros. would likely prioritize Gosling's return to Barbie over the Flintstones project, since the former is the studio's highest-grossing film.
