Celebrity Deaths 2026: Catherine O’Hara, Eric Dane & More Fallen Stars

A beloved voice actor has left this world too soon.

Eric Bauza, who lent his voice to countless animated roles, died on Oct. 25, his loved ones confirmed on social media. He was 46.

Though the statement shared online didn’t provide additional insight other than to note Bauza “passed away suddenly,” records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner released online cite hypertensive cardiovascular disease as the primary cause of death.

Throughout his career, Bauza voiced a myriad of beloved animated characters on series and films such as Rick and Morty, Bob’s Burgers, Lego Star Wars, Forgotten Island, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Avatar: Seven Havens.

The Canadian actor was perhaps best known, however, for his work within the Looney Tunes franchise, bringing to life the likes of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety and Elmer Fudd, among others.

In fact, Bauza voiced the Looney Tunes characters at the heart of the 2026 film Coyote vs. Acme, Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner.

Following news of Bauza’s death, a number of his colleagues and friends spoke to the indelible legacy he has left behind, including the Chairman of Warner Bros. Television Group and US Networks Channing Dungey.

“Eric Bauza was a unique voice talent who brought joy and laughter to millions around the world,” Dungey shared in a statement with Deadline. “During his 15 years at Warner Bros. Animation, he was the voice of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck among countless other characters. He followed in the footsteps of giants like Mel Blanc.”

She added, “Eric said that carrying on the legendary legacy of the Looney Tunes was among the greatest honors of his life. In addition to his incredible talent, Eric was a treasured part of our animation family. Our hearts go out to his loved ones.”

Meanwhile, Coyote vs. Acme producer Chris DeFaria recalled Bauza’s “absolutely tireless dedication” to his craft.

“He embodied everything we wanted from this film, including the major theme of the movie that a little guy can make a difference in this world,” DeFaria added in his statement to Variety. “He’s a voiceover artist for animated characters that have historic precedents and roles, and somehow out of that, he carved out a place in this business. And this past year, he had such an incredible impact, both on our movie, of course, but also on bringing attention to this amazing art form.”

DeFaria noted he’ll always remember Bauza as a “pure expression of dedication, talent, enthusiasm, love and fun.”
