James is a gaming writer from London who has spent thousands of hours exploring titles from every genre. Though he has a particular affinity for multiplayer titles like World of Warcraft, Destiny 2 and League of Legends, he has also put thousands of hours into single-player experiences, from deep RPGs to epic PC strategies. When he's not playing or writing, he can usually be found supporting his beloved Brentford FC.

Over the years, Spider-Man has rocked an extremely broad range of iconic looks, whether you're a fan of the comics, movies, games, or anything else he has appeared in over the last six decades. Though they aren't necessarily "official" appearances for the character in one sense, video games have provided a great medium for artists to really go wild and have fun with his look.

Marvel's Spider-Man and the sequel are probably the most obvious examples of this, giving players some pretty out there appearances to rock while their fighting crime in New York City. Those aren't the only recent games that feature the character though, and he's back once again with an entirely new aesthetic that you won't have seen the like of anywhere else.

Spider-Man Is Back With A Bold New Look

Over on Twitter/X, the official page for Marvel Rivals shared the arrival of a brand-new Spider-Man appearance in the game, the Spider-Man - Peter Parker: The Photographer costume. It's obviously a massive initial departure from what you might expect because he isn't wearing his usual suit. The more casual look might not be for everyone, but it's nice to see Peter Parker getting a little more time in the sun.

At the same time, the developer also confirmed that two other skins are on the way for players, with Black Cat Urban Predator and Blade Starlit Shadow joining the proverbial party. The costumes aren't live in the game just yet, and we haven't had official confirmation on price, though all three will be available to purchase as bundles.

Black Cat is obviously new to the game, so this also serves as the first alternate appearance available to players. All three look pretty great, and for Blade and Peter Parker, both are unique enough that other skins haven't really done anything particularly close to the same thing so far.

Peter Parker Has Never Looked So Good

Though everyone can have their own personal opinion on which Spider-Man video game appearance is the best, few could argue with the fact that Peter Parker is looking pretty great in Marvel Rivals. Unfortunately, it doesn't come with any unique powers that magically make us better at the game, but we can't have everything.

With Brand New Day set to release later this year, it won't be too long before we get even more Spider-Man goodness to enjoy, so I'll just be locked into Marvel Rivals ranked in the meantime.
