In Palworld, the technology tree allows players to unlock many different customizations, weapons, and other useful items. This is the main way players will progress in the game after completing the tutorial and the best way to keep their Pals happy, healthy, and working. Players will soon find that some upgrades are more useful than others.
Technology points in Palworld are important for progress and are something players will want to find as soon as possible. Luckily, there are some key ways to get technology points early, but deciding what to spend them on might be more difficult. Players should prioritize items that can upgrade their base, but there are other useful items. This list focuses on the technology upgrades to get early in the game, making it easiest to get overpowered as soon as possible.
12 Palbox
Back to Basics
You will be forced to unlock the Palbox quite early, but it is the most important technology upgrade to get as soon as possible. Getting your base up and running is the key mechanic that will lead you to success in the game.
With the Palbox, you can store excess Pals you catch early or store resources. While it may seem redundant, players need this upgrade as soon as possible, and the game will not be the same without it.
11 Egg Incubator
Start Hatching Those Pals
You'll occasionally need to look to the Ancient Technology tab for some Palworld essentials, and the best example might be the must-have Egg Incubator. True to its name, this is used to incubate and hatch eggs. Whether you have an extensive breeding set-up or are simply finding eggs in the wild, the Egg Incubator serves an essential way to expand your roster of Pals.
To make the best use of the Egg Incubator, pay attention to the ideal temperature when incubating eggs. If it's too hot or too cold, this can be easily resolved by using heaters or coolers in the direct vicinity of the Incubator.
10 Hot Spring
Time To Relax
The Hot Spring might not seem as directly essential to production as some other pieces of technology in Palworld, but it's one of the keys to an efficient operation as a whole. Resting in the Hot Spring allows pals to recover SAN, making it possible for them to keep tirelessly working on your base.
Even if you're not attempting to maximize production, the Hot Spring is one way to raise the friendship level of Pals and increase their happiness. Only one or two can fit at a time (depending on size), so you might even want to deploy multiple or spring for the High Quality Hot Spring once it's available.
9 Straw Pal Bed
Sleep Is Necessary For Everyone
Sleep is a necessary part of life, even for your Pals working hard to keep your base in order. This will be necessary to unlock as soon as possible to keep your Pals from getting stressed or sick.
You'll also want to unlock the Shoddy Bed for yourself, allowing you to both restore HP and skip the night.
The game will quickly inform you that without beds, your Pals will get stressed, and will even keep a running tally of the number of Pals to beds in the base HUD screen at all times. Keep your Pals happy, and they will work much longer and harder. While the Hot Spring is a little more of a luxury, a bed is absolutely essential from any perspective.
8 Common Shield
Live Long and Prosper
The Common Shield should be unlocked and crafted as soon as possible after beginning your journey in Palworld. There are a lot of different offensive items, but this is one of the few early defensive items that makes a notable difference.
Exploring and fighting Pals - or people - in the wild is a vastly different affair with and without a shield. You will need to have a shield running before attempting the first boss at the Syndicate Tower, so make sure to grab it early.
7 Feed Box
Keep Them Fed
The Feed Box is another very important item to keep your Pals fed and happy in Palworld. However, this also helps you get food as well. If you have Red Berry Bushes, Ranch, or any Food Production on your base, Pals will gather the berries or other types of food automatically and put them directly in the Feed Box.
Getting a Feed Box set up keeps all the Pals well-fed and allows you to grab the berries when needed. This takes a lot of stress from making sure none of the Pals grow hungry.
6 Berry Plantation
Berries For Everyone
Speaking of berries, the Berry Plantation will let your Pals farm them automatically. This allows them to keep feeding themselves even when the berry bushes are depleted or you do not have a Pal currently working the Ranch.
The Berry Plantation is one of the most efficient ways of creating food for the whole team, and with the right Pal farming your base, you will not ever have to worry about running out of food or your Pals going hungry.
5 Logging Site
Farming Wood
While there is also a Mining Site, the Logging Site is more of a priority, at least at the beginning of Palworld. The early-game upgrades almost all require Wood to build, and players will grow weary of continuing to knock down whatever trees are on their base.
It also can hold 9,999 Wood, meaning having a team of productive Pals with the Lumbering trait will give you enough Wood for your crafting needs. Wood can also be broken down into Fiber and Charcoal, making it even more important to get a large stock of it early.
4 Crusher
Grinding Goodies
A Crusher will allow you to turn all that Wood into Fiber or any extra Stone into Paldium Fragments. Loading this up early will ensure that you always have Paldium Fragments to turn into Pal Spheres, which means you can catch all the Pals you want without worrying too much about the resources needed.
Fiber can also be used for a wide variety of crafting options. As a material that you will only get in small quantities from just cutting down trees, it's important to have an efficient method of production as soon as possible.
3 Medieval Medicine Workbench
Health Is Important
When Pals grow stressed or overworked, their productivity will plummet. They cannot undo this themselves, so giving them medicine is important. The Medieval Medicine Workbench will allow you to produce various remedies to cure your Pals stress and depression.
The medicines can be given to the Pal using the Feed Pal option, but make sure you don't have the meat cleaver equipped when you go to do so.
