Persona 4 Revival Is Bringing Back One of the Rpg’s Most Important Actors

There is only one Adachi

Johnny Yong Bosch will voice Adachi in Persona 4 Revival, Atlus confirmed Monday. Atlus previously made waves amongst fans when it revealed it planned to cast new actors for the remake of the 2008 role-playing game. So it came as quite a shock that Bosch would be returning to the role, though it's a welcome one considering just how big the mark his portrayal of Adachi has left on Persona 4.

On X, Atlus revealed several English-language cast members for Persona 4 Revival. In addition to Bosch, the remake will star Judy Alice Lee (Hades 2) as Aika Nakamura, Courtney Shaw as Nanako Dojima, and Ray Chase (Marvel Rivals) as Ryotaro Dojima. Bosch's return is a big deal for a couple of reasons. Persona 4 has multiple versions, two anime adaptations, and several spin-off titles. Bosch has voiced Adachi in every single appearance to date. Furthermore, Adachi is one of the most important characters in Persona 4. The young detective, initially a bumbling ally to the main cast, is gradually revealed to be far more complex than he first seems. Bosch's performance as Adachi expertly delivers on that complexity and carries some of Persona 4's biggest moments.

More interestingly, Bosch is currently the only cast member from previous versions of Persona 4 to reprise their role for Revival. According to Atlus, the team couldn't get many of the original actors back. This was called into question when several actors said they had not been asked to return. Regardless, fans are sure to be pleased that at least Bosch is coming back.

At this point, Atlus has revealed all the voice actors behind the game's main characters. They all have a hard job ahead of them, as the original game's cast included industry heavyweights like Troy Baker, Yuri Lowenthal, and Laura Bailey, to name a few.

Persona 4 Revival will be released on Feb. 18, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. A Switch 2 version of the game will be released on May 20, 2027.
