Pixie Lott has a 'Marilyn Monroe' moment with blonde curls and red lipstick as she poses in a lace bra

Pixie Lott channelled her inner Marilyn Monroe as she posed in a curly blonde wig and red lipstick in a sizzling new Instagram snap shared on the Sunday.

The singer, 35, is set to portray the late icon in upcoming new play Who Killed Marilyn? at London's Emerald Theatre, with her debut coming up later this month.

And Pixie certainly got into character amid rehearsals for the show, striking a sultry pose while donning a lace black bra. 

Completing her transformation into the Hollywood screen siren, Pixie sported thick lashes and a fake beauty spot as she prepared to play Marilyn in the play which explores the myths and conspiracies surrounding her death.

In another image, Pixie donned a casual grey T-shirt and jeans as she snapped a mirror selfie in her wig, with other snaps showing a conical bra and her script for the show, which runs from August 15 to October 29. 

Captioning her post, the Mama Do hitmaker shared: 'say hi to my marilyn era', with her snaps garnering plenty of appreciative comments from her fans.

In a statement released after her new role was revealed last month, Pixie shared: 'I am absolutely thrilled to be stepping into the iconic shoes of Marilyn Monroe for Who Killed Marilyn? at the Emerald Theatre in the West End.

'I have always loved Marilyn - she is such a fascinating, timeless legend, and bringing her complex story to life on this beautiful stage and being her every night is an absolute dream come true for me. 

'I can't wait for audiences to experience the mystery, the glamour, and the raw emotion we will be pouring into this incredible play.'

Indeed, the performer has previously paid homage to Marilyn, who died in 1962 aged 36, with Pixie transforming into the late star for Jade Thirlwall's icon-themed birthday bash back in 2018. 

The former The Voice Kids judge looked every inch the blonde bombshell as she wore the late Some Like It Hot actress' signature white plunging dress. 

Looking almost identical, Pixie styled her peroxide locks into tight curls framed around her face just like the 1950s sex symbol. 

She added a slick of Hollywood inspired make-up, which included black winged eyeliner and a glamorous red lipstick. 

Elsewhere, back in 2016, Pixie revealed that she longs for the days before the digital era when celebrities were able to retain a sense of mystery and their lives weren't broadcast over the internet. 

Speaking to Harper's Bazaar in a quirky quick-fire questions round, the singer admitted that she would love to be stuck in a lift with Marilyn Monroe for that reason, as there's so much we still don't know about the iconic figure.

 'I feel like she has so many secrets,' the star said. 

'Back in those days the stars weren't as accessible. There wasn't Instagram or Twitter and you wouldn't know what they were doing.'
