Red carpet regrets! The Logies' most shocking fashion flops of all time revealed ahead of TV's night-of-nights

The Logie Awards have delivered some of Australia's most iconic red carpet moments over the years - but not every celebrity has walked away a winner in the style stakes.

While the annual television awards are synonymous with dazzling gowns, sharp tuxedos and old Hollywood glamour, they've also produced their fair share of fashion disasters, with some stars making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Over the years, the red carpet has seen everything from daring silhouettes and barely-there designs to over-the-top embellishments and questionable styling choices that have left fashion critics scratching their heads.

And while some looks have become legendary for all the right reasons, others have earned their place in Logies history as unforgettable fashion felonies.

Now, just days before TV's night-of-nights, Daily Mail Australia takes a cheeky trip down memory lane to revisit some of the biggest red carpet misses - from the questionable to the downright outrageous.

Bella Veralis: 2025 

The Bachelor's Bella Veralis, who rarely steps a foot wrong with fashion, opted for a ruched gown in an on-trend pecan brown shade. 

While the frock fit her beautifully, the cups on the bodice looked a little unfinished and the structured neckline was too much for her petite figure and slim shoulders. 

Even the matching shawl - which gave the look an old-school, almost vintage glamour - couldn't quite rescue it.

Chloé Hayden: 2025 

Chloé Hayden certainly wasn't afraid to make an entrance at the 2025 Logies, arriving in an eccentric, otherworldly creation by Australian label Romance Was Born.

It was undoubtedly one of the more adventurous looks of the night - but perhaps there was simply too much going on. 

The exaggerated shoulders, unusual neckline and voluminous detailing created a slightly chaotic silhouette, while the black boots made the ensemble feel more costume than formalwear.

Sophea Pennington: 2025 

Sophea Pennington took the plunge - quite literally - in a floor-length black sequinned gown for the 2025 Logies.

The actress opted for a dramatically plunging neckline and figure-skimming silhouette, with the shimmering fabric giving the look plenty of red carpet sparkle. 

But the combination of the plunging cut and delicate fabric looked like a particularly risky choice for an outdoor red carpet, with very little room for movement - or a rogue gust of wind.

Emily Weir: 2025 

Actress Emily Weir divided opinion with her very racy ivory gown during the 2025 Logies red carpet. 

The actress threw any and all caution to the wind with her dress, with the split not only flying past her thigh but continuing all the way up to her upper hip. 

As expected she spent the majority of her time on the carpet attempting to cover up her modesty as her silky frock took off in the breeze. An example of a risk that didn't pay off. 

Emily Weir: 2024

Emily makes another appearance on this list thanks to her 2024 Logies outfit, which received mixed reviews and raised plenty of eyebrows.

Exposing her derriere and then some, the Home and Away star took to the red carpet in a baby pink dress with sheer panels, rhinestones, tulle - you name it. 

Her risqué frock turned out to be riskier than expected—a glittering example of what not to wear at the Logies.

Melissa King: 2024

Melissa King's outfit at the 2024 Logies is proof that having a stylist doesn't make you the best dressed. 

For whoever let Melissa descend onto the red carpet with her Spanx on full display clearly had no idea what they were doing.  

The Better Homes and Gardens host deserved better than to be dressed in an ill-fitting Amanda Tasevski gown—especially one with a sheer, corseted midriff that left her high-waisted underwear band fully exposed. 

Here’s hoping Melissa gets her red carpet redemption this year – and keeps the undies under wraps. 

Leila McKinnon: 2018    

Channel Nine journalist Leila McKinnon stole the spotlight for all the wrong reasons in 2018 when she arrived on the red carpet in a futuristic tinsel-inspired frock.

The glitzy design showed off her cleavage and skimmed over her hourglass curves with what looked like Spotlight-sourced party tinsel.

Leila’s makeup matched the drama of her outfit, with a heavy smoky eye and a liberal sweep of blush. 

Olympia Valance: 2017 

Olympia Valance wore a rose-stamped creation by Con Ilio when she attended the Logies in 2017. 

The billowing velvet skirt and oversized print did little to flatter Olympia's frame, while a bizarre head wrap failed to enhance her already overwhelming look.  

Olympia’s no stranger to bold fashion choices, but this one left fans distinctly unimpressed.

Tracy Grimshaw: 2009 

A Current Affair's Tracy Grimshaw made a questionable sartorial choice in 2009 when she stepped on the red carpet in a royal purple number with rhinestone detailing.  

The frock's voluminous skirt and garish hue earned her a spot on many fans' worst-dressed lists.

And while it may have been on-trend back then, Tracy’s throwback haircut and fast fashion-style purse didn’t help her case.

Natalie Bassingthwaighte: 2022

The former Neighbours star failed to flatter her amazing figure in a pink smock-like dress with gold features.

Natalie finished the look with Egyptian-style block bracelets—an accessory choice that left many scratching their heads. 

Libby Babet: 2017 

The Biggest Loser's Libby Babet graced the Logies red carpet in an outfit that would polarise audiences in 2017. 

Sauntering her way down the media wall, Libby turned heads in a glittering silver pencil dress covered in flamenco-inspired fringe detailing.

The trainer topped off her eyebrow-raising ensemble with chunky white heels and a high-drama ponytail. 

Margot Robbie: 2009  

In 2009, well before her Hollywood career took off, former Neighbours star Margot Robbie stepped out in a dramatic, flamenco-inspired, black and red mullet dress.

Despite being panned by fashion critics, Margot had attended as a nominee for the Most Popular New Female Talent award. 

While it wasn’t her finest fashion moment, we’ll forgive Margot—her recent five-star looks make up for it. 

Christian Wilkins: 2018 

He's the son of veteran entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins and is known to push the boundaries with fashion.

However, Christian suffered a fashion faux pas when he descended on the 2018 red carpet in a very casual look.

He chose a red plaid frock layered over ill-fitting black trousers and finished the look with biker-style boots—an ensemble that felt more streetwear than Logies-ready. 

Gamble Breaux: 2016 

The Real Housewives of Melbourne star stepped out in an OTT get-up that left little to the imagination at the 2016 Logies.

Gamble turned heads as she chose to accessorise with unusual leg jewels that overpowered her otherwise simple beige dress.  

The frock’s thigh-high split showed off her toned legs, while glitter-soaked heels added even more drama to the already eccentric ensemble. 

Bonnie Sveen: 2017 

Best known for playing Ricky Sharpe on Home and Away, Bonnie looked worlds away from her bikini babe character when she attended the Logies in 2017.

Clad in an unusual two-piece ensemble with grey brocade, the soap star looked decidedly uncomfortable as she posed on the red carpet.  

Bonnie paired the look with black strappy heels, though they did little to complement her petite frame. 

Georgie Parker: 2016 

Home and Away star Georgie Parker missed the fashion mark in 2016 when she wore a bronze silk gown that swamped her slender frame.

The actress opted for a floor-length, plunging Constantina & Louise dress with ruched detailing around her stomach.

The look was further amplified by House of Emmanuele body jewellery and cuffs that trailed fabric from the gown—adding drama to an already extravagant ensemble. 

Courtney Act: 2004 

The red carpet at the 2004 Logies saw some colourful characters. 

Drag queen Courtney Act turned heads in a one-of-a-kind dress made entirely from photos of veteran entertainer Bert Newton—an unforgettable tribute that had everyone talking. 

Rebecca Judd: 2017  

Footy WAG Rebecca Judd's J'Aton Couture frock was a fashion risk and featured an elaborate ruffled front and clashing pink and red lace.

Her soft curls and flawless makeup couldn’t be faulted, but the sheer, long-sleeved design sparked plenty of debate online. 

Cheryl Maitland: 2018

The former Married At First Sight star made her presence felt for all the wrong reasons. 

Cheryl wore a burgundy strapless frock with bizarre see-through mesh under the bust.

The excessive draping from the waist also overwhelmed Cheryl’s petite frame. 

Lee Lin Chin: 2015

And Lee Lin Chin never shies away from making a style statement: case in point, the 2015 Logie Awards.

That year, she wore a white T-shirt-style frock paired with lace leggings and sleeves, topped off with a dramatic black hat wrapped in tulle around her face and neck. 

Ash Williams: 2011 

Ash Williams took men’s fashion to wild new heights at the 2011 Logies. 

He arrived in tight metallic trousers, a silver jacket, and gold body paint smeared across his bare chest.

Caitlin Stasey: 2015

Former Neighbours star Caitlin Stasey made a bold statement at the 2015 Logies, wearing a silver bull nose ring in her septum and an ill-fitting jumpsuit that divided opinion. 

Susie Elelman: 2014 

Susie Elelman is known for being a fashion risk-taker who regularly flaunts her ample assets on the red carpet.

And in 2014, she put on an extremely eye-popping display as she showcased her impressive cleavage in a plunging dress.

Interestingly, it was the very same dress she wore to the Logies nearly two decades earlier, in 1995.
