Ricky Álvarez stepped out to support Ariana Grande during her July 18 Eternal Sunshine tour stop as the pair continue to fuel romance rumors.
Did Ariana Grande Confirm Her Relationship Status With Ricky Álvarez? Why Fans Think So
Ariana Grande loves the way Ricky Álvarez cheers her on.
The professional dancer supported the Grammy winner at the July 18 concert stop of her Eternal Sunshine tour in Brooklyn following speculation the pair have rekindled their romance.
In footage shared to TikTok, Álvarez, 35, dances to Grande’s 2024 hit “imperfect for you” as he waves his phone’s flashlight in the air. Donning a blue flannel shirt and black beanie for the show, Álvarez switched his position for Grande as the clip also captured him taking photos and videos of the “Side to Side” singer.
And it’s no surprise that the choreographer stepped out to bust a move at the most recent stop in Grande’s global tour. After all, romance rumors began to swirl that the pair—who dated from 2015 to 2016—rekindled their romance after Grande switched up her lyrics for “thank u, next,” which usually includes the line, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / now I listen and laugh.”
The Wicked star changed the latter half of the line during her July 13 concert to, “We always find our way back.”
Days earlier, Grande was at it again, singing during her July 7 concert, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / know he’s still got my back."
And the subtle lyric changes didn’t stop there. Indeed, the Victorious alum also sang during her June 26 tour stop, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / they still really slap.”

And it’s clear Álvarez is so into Grande’s sweet shoutouts.
In fact, social footage captured Álvarez’s subtle smile from the audience as he reacted to Grande’s first lyric change last month.
Though the “Dangerous Woman” hitmaker—who recently broke up with ex-boyfriend Ethan Slater following nearly three years of dating—has yet to confirm her romance with Álvarez, she previously shared insight into how rumors surrounding her personal life will “never be unpainful.”
“But also, I walk with the awareness that I’m an artist and this is a path that I’ve chosen,” she told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published in February 2025, “and so I just try to protect myself so that I never start to resent the art.”
