Savannah Chrisley defends her unborn child after fiancé is revealed to be convicted fraudster Jason Galanis

Savannah Chrisley deflected from the backlash over her surprise relationship with convicted fraudster Jason Galanis by turning her attention to her unborn child on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old Chrisley Knows Best star shared a clip from her sonogram in her Instagram Stories as she declared that her baby was 'innocent.'

The pregnant reality star had stoked outrage after Us Weekly confirmed earlier in the day that Chrisley's mystery fiancé was none other than 56-year-old Galanis, who is 27 years her senior.

'You are not a headline. You are not a controversy,' she wrote alongside the short video. 'You are not defined by anyone’s past, anyone’s mistakes, or anyone’s opinions.'

'You are innocent, deeply loved, and the greatest blessing God could have ever entrusted your daddy and I with,' Chrisley continued.

'No amount of noise in this world will ever overshadow the joy of being your mama,' she wrote, adding, 'You are my answered prayer. And I will never apologize for celebrating you.'

Chrisley also wrote: 'My sweet, thumb-sucking baby... you are worth it ALL!'

The Daily Mail has reached out to Chrisley's representative and Galanis for comment but has not yet heard back.

Chrisley had announced that she was engaged and expecting her first child with her boyfriend earlier on Tuesday via Instagram, after just over a year of dating.

But later in the day, her mystery fiancé was revealed to be Galanis, whose sentence was commuted by President Donald Trump last year.

Galanis had been sentenced to more than 15 years in prison in 2020 for his role in 'two multimillion-dollar fraud schemes,' according to the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.

'He and his codefendants engaged in market manipulation and the defrauding of shareholders, and they stole a large portion of the proceeds of tribal bonds that were intended to fund economic development projects,' US Attorney Audrey Strauss said in a press release at the time.

In one of his schemes, Galanis defrauded investors, including a Native American tribe, to the tune of tens of millions of dollars.

In March 2024, Galanis, who is a former associate of Hunter Biden, testified from behind bars during the Republican impeachment inquiry into former President Joe Biden.

Earlier on Tuesday, Chrisley's mystery fiancé was revealed to be convicted fraudster Jason Galanis, who was granted clemency by President Donald Trump last year

Chrisley announced that she was engaged and expecting her first child with her boyfriend via Instagram on Tuesday, posting a montage of clips that showed her and her fiancé looking at their sonogram photo, kissing and cradling her baby bump

One year later, Trump commuted his prison sentence, but the President did not share his reasoning for granting clemency.

Galanis previously alleged that he was targeted by the justice system and denied home confinement that 'would have allowed full and free access to congressional investigators.'

Later on Tuesday, the reality star also shared a photo of herself in profile to highlight her baby bump as she thanked her fans for their well-wishes regarding her pregnancy news.

After her fiancé's identity was revealed, she posted a selfie of herself with Galanis on the deck of a massive yacht.

'My forever adventure partner,' she captioned it.

When Chrisley announced her pregnancy, she referred to her fiancé simply as J, later revealing just his first name during an episode of her Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley podcast.

Chrisley first shared the news that she was engaged and expecting via Instagram on Tuesday morning, posting a montage of clips that showed her and her fiancé looking at their sonogram photo, kissing and cradling her baby bump.

'I’ve prayed for this life. I’ve cried for this life. And there were moments I truly wondered if this life would ever be mine,' she captioned it.

'The past few years have taken me through fires I never imagined I’d have to walk through.

'Seasons of heartbreak, loss and moments when I didn’t know if I would ever make it to the other side.

'I wondered if I would ever find my forever… if I would ever feel safe enough to truly breathe again.

'And then God sent me J. Right in the middle of the heartbreak. Before all the pieces were put back together. And somehow, he began healing parts of me he never broke.'

She described Galanis as her 'protector, fiercest fighter and safe place' before she went on to praise his 'patience,' adding: 'Lord knows he needs it.'

'[He's] the one who makes me laugh even on my hardest days,' she gushed. 'For the first time in a long time, I feel safe. I feel fulfilled. I can finally exhale. I found my forever in you.'

She said that 'watching the way' Galanis 'already loves and protects' their baby has made her 'fall in love with [him] in an entirely new way.'

'Not a single doctor’s appointment missed. [He's] constantly caring for me, talking about our baby and reminding me how beautiful my growing bump is. I thank God every day that this baby gets to call you daddy,' she continued.

Galanis was seen posing alongside Chrisley and her parents at Mar-a-Lago in a snap shared by author and conservative speaker Angela Stanton King back in April

Galanis, 56, was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison in 2020 for his role in 'two multimillion-dollar fraud schemes,' per the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. But he had his sentence commuted by Trump in 2025

She concluded the message by reminding women 'still in waiting season' to not 'mistake God's silence for absence.'

'Sometimes he’s writing the most beautiful chapters of your story while you’re still trying to make sense of the ones that broke your heart,' she said.

'I once prayed just to make it through another day. Now I get to spend forever with the love of my life, carrying a little miracle we already love more than words.

'From heartbreak to healing. From surviving to living. From praying for my forever to building a family with him.

'Only God could have written this story. Here’s to forever, J… and the sweetest little blessing we can’t wait to meet.'

On her podcast, Chrisley explained that she and Galanis first met through 'the world of politics' last year while she was trying to get a presidential pardon for her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were found guilty of taking part in a $30 million tax fraud scheme and sentenced to 12 and seven years behind bars, respectively, in 2022.

She said when the pardon was granted in May 2025, Galanis reached out to her to congratulate her.

She read the text aloud, which said: 'Hey Savannah, it’s just incredible what you did for your family, you never stopped, fearless person. Congratulations.'

The two started dating in July 2025, and he proposed five months later in December while they were vacationing in the Cayman Islands, with her describing the ring as 'insane and everything I ever wanted.'

She also addressed their 'huge' age gap during the podcast, stating: 'He doesn't act his age.

'His body is great. His mind is even sharper. So I really don’t care, OK? This person is the love of my life. And it made all the heartbreak that I’ve gone through worth it.

'I would rather 20 phenomenal years with someone than 50 meh years with someone.'
