Shibarium Falls From 1.56B Transactions, But There’s a Catch
TLDR
- Shibariumscan now shows about 475 million transactions, down from the previous 1.56 billion total.
- The roughly 69.55% decline appears linked to incomplete explorer indexing, not deleted Shibarium blockchain data.
- Total addresses and blocks also fell sharply as Shibariumscan continues rebuilding historical network records.
- The explorer is currently around 42% indexed, leaving much of Shibarium’s past activity temporarily uncounted.
- Shibariumscan’s outage followed a DNS and hosting change involving Cloudflare and Hetzner infrastructure.
Shiba Inu’s Layer-2 network, Shibarium, has shown a sharp drop in cumulative transaction data on Shibariumscan. The explorer now displays about 475 million transactions, down from roughly 1.56 billion reported on August 10, 2026, a decline of about 69.55%.
The change also affected other network totals. Shibariumscan now shows about 71.3 million addresses and 7.91 million blocks, far below earlier readings of 269.93 million addresses and 18.47 million blocks.
Shibarium Data Drop Triggers Community Questions
The sudden change raised questions across the Shiba Inu community. Some users feared Shibarium had lost historical records or suffered a technical failure.
However, available information points to an explorer indexing issue. The blockchain itself did not erase past transactions, while Shibariumscan continues rebuilding the data shown on its website.
Shiba Inu community member Mazrael said Shibariumscan returned online after an outage and resumed indexing. In an August 12 post on X, he linked the outage to a DNS change after the explorer moved behind Cloudflare.
The setup shifted from direct Hetzner hosting to Cloudflare proxying. Mazrael also said the restored site first appeared with a basic setup and without its usual Shibarium branding, showing that restoration work was still underway.
Shibariumscan has not yet completed the indexing process. The explorer is currently around 42% indexed, which means much of Shibarium’s older transaction history has not yet returned to the displayed totals.
That explains why the transaction count remains near 475 million instead of 1.56 billion. The address and block totals also remain lower because the explorer still needs to process more historical records.
Previous Network Totals Could Return
As indexing continues, Shibariumscan should add more historical data to its public figures. The transaction count could move back toward the earlier 1.56 billion level once the explorer reaches full synchronization.
Mazrael also said Shibarium’s domain remained healthy. It is set to expire on August 1, 2027, and all four transfer locks remain enabled, reducing concerns that the outage came from a domain expiration problem.
The same process could restore address and block totals toward their previous levels of about 269 million addresses and 18 million blocks. No clear completion date has been given, so the current Shibarium figures remain temporary while indexing continues.
