Slipknot Says They’ve “Parted Ways” With Sid Wilson After Exit Rumors

Kelly Osbourne Slams Ex Sid Wilson After His Alleged Firing From Slipknot Band

Sid Wilson’s time in Slipknot has come to an end.

The musician—who joined the heavy metal band in 1998—will no longer be a part of the group, his bandmates confirmed.

“Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson,” the band wrote in a statement shared to the official Instagram account for the rockers’ music festival Knotfest Aug. 14. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

They added in the caption, “Slipknot have parted ways with Sid Wilson. The announcement could briefly be found on the band’s website.”

E! News has reached out to a rep for Wilson but has not yet heard back.

Though Wilson has not publicly commented on his exit, the announcement comes weeks after reports surfaced that the DJ was allegedly fired from the band—which also includes percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan, singer Corey Taylor and guitarists Mick Thomson and James Root—after 28 years as their turntablist.

Shortly after, Root seemingly addressed the chatter.

“Don’t believe everything you read,” Root wrote on Instagram Stories July 31. “Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information.”

But a pivot in his profession isn’t the only life change Wilson has been navigating as of late.

Recently, he and his ex Kelly Osbourne—with whom he shares 3-year-old son Sidneycalled it quits after they got engaged in July 2025

And amid hearsay that Wilson would be taking his leave from the band, Osbourne shared a scathing message telling her former fiancé to "Wake the f--k up."

"Strange how the loudest defense of the guilty is rarely innocence… It’s distraction," Osbourne wrote in a series of Instagram Stories Aug. 3. "When the mask slips, they don’t face the mirror they throw it at someone else. I also heard that when you break a mirror you get 7 years of bad luck! Or is that just karma? This is why I always take accountability!"

Calling out Wilson, 49, to "take some responsibility” for undisclosed issues, the 41-year-old continued, "I will not take your s--t anymore! I’m done,” though she didn’t specify her allegations further.

But the Fashion Police alum—whose father Ozzy Osbourne died in 2025—did share that she’s focusing on herself in her new chapter.

"I want to be happy and I have a beautiful son to raise," Osbourne wrote. "Leave me alone. Let me heal. I can’t protect you from yourself anymore."
