Star Wars Just Confirmed The Start Of A New Era: Myths & Legends

The Star Wars franchise has grown so far beyond the efforts of the original three movies that it can be a little difficult to keep up with everything that's going on, even as an enthusiast. With new comic books, graphic novels, TV adaptations and more, there really hasn't been a better time to be a fan, in terms of the amount of content there is to consume.

With that, we've now been through more eras and timelines than ever before, from the pre-Republic era, where the first Jedi began to emerge, all the way up to the formation of the new Jedi Order in 35 ABY. Whichever period you prefer, one of the biggest and most successful adaptations in Star Wars history is about to enter a new era of its own, and it could be the strangest one yet.

As first reported by The Bespin Bulletin, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes has announced the latest run of characters being added to the game as part of the Myths and Legends era. The headline addition is undoubtedly Darth Jar Jar, who actually comes with some genuinely potent abilities that should make him a bit of a beast in-game.

He is joined on the Dark Side by The Ronin, a relentless Sith who weighs in with brutal attacks, and is designed to synergize perfectly with Jar Jar. Also on Team Baddie is the new Stormtrooper (Concept), as well as the Dark Side Vision of Yoda, though the team is yet to reveal the artwork for the latter.

The Light Side is also getting some exciting additions this time around, with Mara Jade Skywalker, Starkiller (Luke Concept), and Jaxxon, with the latter arguably being the most excitingly designed of the bunch. All of the new additions are four star characters and should slot in nicely to a variety of existing rosters.

You can also expect similar updates for Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes for a long time to come yet, with the game actually serving as the most successful game in franchise history, generating well over $2 billion for developer EA Capital Games.

There are also a ton of other genuinely exciting projects coming down the pipeline that fans will want to be aware of moving forward. Pod racing epic Star Wars: Galactic Racer is the first on that list, but we also have the Knights of the Old Republic remake, Fate of the Old Republic, and even Eclipse still in active development, leaving Star Wars in a fantastic state overall for gamers.
