Ewan is Deputy Editor for ScreenRant's gaming section. He still quite hasn’t gotten out of his mid 00’s emo phase, and knows more about The Legend of Zelda and Doctor Who than is probably healthy.

Ewan oversees the content operation of ScreenRant's gaming output, working with a talented team of writers and editors to cover everything from the latest GTA 6 news to the indie games you need on your radar.

Former Editor of GAMINGbible, Ewan also has words at Kotaku, Den of Geek, NME, and UNILAD. He's appeared on various podcasts, including VGC's and BBC's Let's Talk About Tech.

It's the most wonderful time of year. The Steam Summer Sale has officially kicked off, bringing with it a number of frankly ludicrous discounts on all manner of games. Given the recent hardware price hikes, you'll probably want to grab as many cheap games as you can now and store them away, much like a squirrel hides nuts for the cold winter months.

While the Summer Sale is obviously mostly known for being a, well, sale, there's a little more to it than that. In celebration of this season of giddy discounts, registered Steam users can also get their hands on some special limited-time free downloads. There are, as I'm sure you know, always new free games to play on Steam, but this is something a little different.

In an effort to encourage gamers to pick up the best bargains based on their current gaming habits, Valve is offering three special Steam Stickers. These are purely cosmetic items, but they're designed to let you bring a little more personality to your Steam profile, if that's the kind of thing you're into.

To claim these limited-time stickers, you'll want to go through your Steam Discovery Queue between now and July 10. That's literally all you have to do, although I daresay the reward is proportionate to the task. Of course, it's worth noting that Steam used to offer up more substantial freebies than a few stickers... but consoles also used to be less than $1,000, so I suppose things change, don't they?

Anyway, take a look at some of the highlights from the sale while we're here:

  • Batman: Arkham Knight – $4 ($20)
  • Dead Island 2 – $5 ($50)
  • Dead Space Remake – $6 ($60)
  • Dragon Age Inquisition – $4 ($40)
  • Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 – $2 ($20)
  • Far Cry 4 – $3 ($30)
  • Firewatch – $4 ($20)
  • Ghostwire Tokyo – $6 ($60)
  • Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Collection – $6 ($20)
  • Hades – $7 ($40)
  • Sonic Mania – $2 ($20)
  • Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order – $4 ($40)
  • Subnautica$8 ($30)
  • The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth – $2 ($15)
  • The Long Dark – $7 ($20)
  • The Witcher 3 – $4 ($40)
  • Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 – $8 ($30)
  • Total War: Warhammer III – $9 ($60)
  • Warhammer 40,000: Darktide – $10 ($40)
  • Watch Dogs 2 – $3 ($50)
  • XCOM 2 $3 ($20)

Believe me when I say that's the tip of the iceberg. I suggest you scurry on over to Steam ASAP and pick up some bargains while you can. And, you know, grab those free stickers while you're at it, because you literally might as well.
