Jeff Dodge (he/him), a published author and graduate of Western Washington University, has been a TV news editor for many years and has had the chance to interview multiple reality show stars, including Randy Jackson, Nick Cannon, Heidi Klum, Mel B and John Cena. Fun Fact: he’s been to every single Idol Live! Tour.

With just days to go until the series returns to HBO, Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney's Euphoria just broke a new record.

The most recent Euphoria season 3 trailer, which was released on March 30, reached 157 million views in its first 48 hours, which means the three-minute preview is now the most-viewed trailer for a returning HBO or HBO Max series, according to Deadline.

The trailer also shattered the record that had been held by the first Euphoria season 3 trailer from January, which also surpassed 100 million views.

It's not just the trailers that have seen impressive viewership. The ratings for the show itself have increased exponentially over time. After the season 1 finale drew in just over 500,000 viewers, a series high of 6.6 million viewers tuned in to the second-season finale three years later.

Along with Zendaya (who won two Emmys and a Golden Globe for her role on the series) and Sweeney, Euphoria also stars Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow and the late Eric Dane.

Sam Levinson created Euphoria and serves as an executive producer with Zendaya, Schafer, Kevin Turen, Ravi Nandan, Adel "Future" Nur, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Gary Lennon, Mirit Toovi, Tmira Yardeni, Yoram Mokadi, Jim Kleverweis, Will Greenfield, Ashley Levinson and Sara E. White.

Zendaya and Sweeney's careers have skyrocketed since the series debuted in 2019. The former had already been in Spider-Man: Homecoming and went on to reprise the role of MJ in Far From Home and No Way Home. She also starred in Dune, Dune: Part Two and Challengers.

The award-winning actress is about to have a very busy 2026. Aside from the return of Euphoria, she can also be seen in The Drama (April 3), The Odyssey (July 17), Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 31) and Dune: Part Three (December 18).

Sweeney, meanwhile, followed up the first season of Euphoria by starring on another hit HBO series, The White Lotus, and appeared in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Reality, Madame Web and Christy.

Her most recent project, The Housemaid with Amanda Seyfried, was a hit at the box office. The film grossed $399 million and scored a Certified Fresh rating of 73% on Rotten Tomatoes. Sweeney will be returning for the sequel, The Housemaid's Secret, which arrives in theaters in December 2027.

In just a handful of days from now, Zendaya and Sweeney will be back together on screen. Based on the record-breaking trailer, Euphoria season 3 will see Rue Bennett (Zendaya) questioned by DEA agents as the characters grow up and move on from high school.

While HBO hasn't made an official announcement yet, the upcoming eight-episode installment is expected to be the final season.

Euphoria season 3 premieres Sunday, April 12 at 9 p.m. EDT on HBO and HBO Max.
