TALK OF THE TOWN: Posh clothing company Boden hires Claudia Winkelman's stylist to design collection inspired by the Traitors star

Traitors host Claudia Winkleman didn't have the greatest of weeks – announcing she was quitting her much-derided BBC chat show after just one series – but at least she can take consolation in the fact she's still a fashion icon.

I can reveal that Johnny Boden, of the posh clothing company that bears his surname, has paid Winkleman's stylist a hefty sum to design a range inspired by the star.

Sinead McKeefry has worked with the presenter for 20 years, and can take much credit for the sensation Winkleman's outfits have caused during the Traitors series.

I'm told the range will feature quilted skirts, chunky boots, oversized knit jumpers and blazers, a far cry from the home-counties attire Boden usually champions.

No doubt Boden – a favourite of the Princess of Wales – is delighted with this deal, especially as rivals such as M&S and Zara reported that 'Traitors-coded' items inspired by Claudia's look flew off the rails when the show became such a smash hit.

Claudia, 54, once told me she was regularly asked to change into 'more girly' outfits earlier in her career, and the first time she presented Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two in 2004, she conceded and wore a dress.

'I didn't feel very me. I begged the producers to go back to my normal clothes, which make me feel comfortable, and everyone agreed I should,' she said.

And so was born her distinctive look, which she has stuck to ever since.

It is not the first time Claudia, left, has been a muse – especially for the Goth community – with her distinctive eye make-up and that black fringe.

In 2015, M&S launched the Claudia Beauty Collection, and in 2019 she launched her own beauty brand, Full Panda.

Boden said: 'We're delighted to be working with Sinead.

She is hugely talented and a true champion of British heritage style.'

Scrimping Suki's a second-hand queen 

Model, actress and singer Suki Waterhouse has a reported net worth of £10million and never looks anything but fabulous on the red carpet.

So I am surprised to learn that the 34-year-old socialite likes to pinch the pennies by buying the majority of her wardrobe through Vinted, the online second-hand marketplace where T-shirts cost an average of £5. 

But she did at least say she doesn't haggle to drive the price down even further.

Her frugality also extends to her culinary tastes, as she has admitted she 'is one for a jacket potato'.

I imagine her partner, Hollywood star Robert Pattinson, 40, who is worth £70million, is thrilled his fiancée is so parsimonious.

Lady Delphi Primrose did a Lady Chatterley two years ago when she started dating one of the 'beaters' at Belvoir Castle, the rugged Dominic Inglis-Jones.

Now my sources tell me the 23-year-old model has continued her quest to taste life outside the confines of her upper-class bubble and has developed a strong liking for sausage rolls while at Newcastle University. 

Perhaps that's no surprise in the home of Greggs!

Comic Alan's artless move

Alan Carr is fast becoming a traitor with locals since he bought Ayton Castle in Scotland. 

I hear Alan has cancelled the annual art festival which has been held there for years and showcased local talent. 

'Got a feeling these closures will become more frequent now it's owned by a celebrity,' moans a neighbour.

I can reveal Alexandra Flora Beidas, a high-flying lawyer who has been a director of four homelessness charities, will be taking the reins as the Foundation's new director.

Good to see the charity is as strong as ever, despite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle cutting ties with it in 2019.
