The Rookie Season 9 & North Spinoff Premiere Dates Officially Revealed

It is a tale of two contrasts for one of television's biggest procedural franchises. The Rookie season 9 is nearing its milestone tenth year on the air as one of the rare shows that has grown more popular over time, particularly with a younger generation of viewers. It will likely stay the course while introducing new characters and complicating some fan-favorite pairings.

The Rookie: North, meanwhile, is the latest spinoff in The Rookie universe after the short-lived Rookie: Feds series. The upcoming procedural is led by All Her Fault and Insecure star Jay Ellis, surrounding the veteran actor with a new group of supporting characters and repeating a premise that has proved its longevity elsewhere.

It was confirmed at this year's New York Comic-Con, with ScreenRant's Jordan Williams in attendance, that The Rookie season 9 premieres on January 6 on ABC. As for The Rookie: North, the new spinoff also premieres on January 6 at 10 PM, right after The Rookie.
