Tom Holland Calls Zendaya His Wife for the First Time After Wedding

Tom Holland's Sweet Marriage Comment About Zendaya Will Make You Swoon

Tom Holland has spoken Zendaya’s newest role into existence.

Nearly five months after the couple’s marriage was confirmed, the actor referred to his longtime Spider-Man costar as his wife for the very first time when considering who he’d take on a vacation to Greece.

“I think probably my wife would be pretty good,” Holland shared during a preview for a July 22 episode of The Dish podcast, going on to joke about taking their The Odyssey costar Matt Damon. “It would be a bit strange if I went, ‘Sorry babe, I’m gonna take Matt actually.”

Although Holland and Zendaya—whose romance was confirmed in 2021—have been extremely tight-lipped about the details of their marriage thus far, the Cherry actor has used their latest press tours as an opportunity for sweet quips about their romance.

In a joint interview where he addressed fan theories about The Odyssey alongside Damon, Anne Hathaway and Robert Pattinson, Holland considered a question about Zendaya’s Athena.

“Did Athena love Odysseus romantically?” Holland considered in an interview with Wired posted July 16. “No, because she’s married to me.”

Later, Damon also joined in on the meta reference when answering a question about what Holland’s Telemachus learned from Athena. As the 55-year-old put it, “True love.”

Meanwhile, Zendaya shared a glimpse into how her marriage to Tom just might have given her a leg up on getting cast in the Christopher Nolan film.

“Tom had the script at home before I got the call,” the 29-year-old explained in an interview with E! News at the film’s New York premiere. “So, I did a little peeky peek.”

Nevertheless, Holland and Zendaya have kept firm boundaries about revealing no details on their wedding itself.

For the 30-year-old, he confirmed that “all” of the couple’s close family and loved ones were present for their ceremony, but emphasized in an interview with Esquire published last month, “That’s all you’ll get on that.”

And while Zendaya acknowledged she and Tom’s romance has unfurled in the public eye, she still considers herself “a very private person.”

“I try my best to be able to have things for myself and for him as well,” the Disney alum shared in an interview with the New York Times’ Modern Love podcast in April. “We do our best, in general, to not hide ourselves from the world but just to preserve things for ourselves so we can maintain that joy within ourselves and our loved ones and our family.”

As she put it, “That’s my broad way of just saying I hear it but also [setting] my own little boundaries of what I like to bring up and share.”
