The UFC has lost a fighter.

Brazilian athlete Allan "Puro Osso" Nascimento died of an apparent heart attack on Aug. 3, the organization shared on X. He was 34.

"This morning, Monday, August 3rd, our beloved flyweight fighter, Allan Nascimento, was found unresponsive after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep," read a statement from the UFC. "Despite the efforts of the responding medical team, he was pronounced deceased at the scene."

The mixed martial arts promotion company added, "Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Allan's family, friends, teammates, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time."

Nascimento's official cause of death has not been confirmed.

Known as “Puro Osso" ("All Bones") because of his lean size growing up, Nascimento signed with the UFC in 2021 and was 4-2 in six appearances, according to ESPN.

While he hailed from São Paulo, Brazil, Nascimento noted that Las Vegas—where the UFC is based—had become his "second home," sharing on Instagram July 21, "Every visit reminds us why."

But Sin City was about balancing work and play. In fact, Nascimento had shared how he remained disciplined throughout his training process.

"It’s about the choices you make every day," he wrote on Instagram in July via translation from Portuguese. "Routine. Process. Taking care of your body. Strengthening your mind. And then… Tomorrow, doing it all over again. And again. And again. Until, one day, you realize... that this is discipline."

Alongside another post of him taking a cold plunge in an ice bath, he explained, "There is no process without discipline, there is no discipline without a strong mind, and there is no performance without process!!!"

And Nascimento—who earned a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu—kept that same mindset even when he didn't get the results he wanted, like his loss to Mitch Raposo in June.

"Unfortunately, the win didn't come this time—a loss via split decision—but I leave with my head held high, knowing I gave it my all in there," he wrote on Instagram via translation. "Losses also teach, strengthen, and are part of the journey. Thank you all for the support and messages."
