What to Expect in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 and its Gaming Theme
Fortnite's new gaming-themed season is just around the corner, and players are getting excited about what's to come. Teasers and reveals have started rolling out, giving fans a much clearer picture of what Chapter 7 Season 4 holds for Fortnite.
Chapter 7 Season 4 is titled Fortnite Override, as its main themes seem to be hacking and gaming. Hopefully, the Unstable event will provide more answers than questions. The next Fortnite season goes live on Thursday, Aug. 20, after downtime comes to an end. With launch day just around the corner, several teasers and hints have come out this week.
Fortnite teasers have revealed that the following collaborations are coming in Chapter 7 Season 4: Sonic the Hedgehog, Persona, Tetris, and Pac-Man. Official Sega accounts showed Sonic and Tails alongside Fortnite mascot Peely on the Battle Royale map, and players have spotted clouds in the background that were shaped like Tetris blocks. At Wonkeeland, players heard faint Pac-Man music playing for a few days. Characters from all four of these franchises also appeared on the decrypted posters found in the Unstable event game files. They were found alongside Mega Man, who has not been confirmed but is expected to be part of the Gaming Legends season. Lastly, two additional teasers showed Joker from Persona 5 and the deer from 99 Nights in the Forest, a popular Roblox game.
Several of the confirmed franchises have slogans that connect them to Lobby Hacks, an upcoming mechanic that allows players to receive perks by inputting codes while in the lobby.
As for rumors, players are expecting to see something related to the Undertale universe, as the owner of the company that manages the franchise's soundtrack tweeted Tim Sweeney about adding Deltarune music to Fortnite. Even if no cosmetic items result from this possible collaboration, Undertale games have some of the best soundtracks of all time, so it would surely be a success if turned into Jam Tracks.
Additionally, fans spotted what appeared to be a Crate from Crash Bandicoot in the promotional art for the Unstable story moment.
