Yellowjackets' Samantha Hanratty Teases Misty’s Season 4 Beauty Faves

When it comes to surviving the wilderness, Yellowjackets' Misty Quigley has bigger problems than her beauty routine. But that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t appreciate a few essentials.
E! caught up with Samantha Hanratty, who plays the teenage version of Misty Quigley on Yellowjackets, to find out which beauty products Misty wishes she had in the wilderness, the ones she bought as soon as she got rescued (which we hope to see next season), her nostalgic signature scent, and so much more.
- Hanratty revealed there's "a lot of hairspray going into this season for Misty."
- Misty Quigley's beauty wishlist: e.l.f. hypochlorous mist, Olaplex hair mask, and Jackie Taylor's frosted lipstick.
- What is Misty's signature scent back home? Victoria's Secret Love Spell, Hanratty's nostalgic scent from her childhood.
And while Yellowjackets' final season won't premiere until November 20th, we're getting Hanratty back on our screens. The actor is starring in e.l.f. SKIN's newest campaign celebrating the launch of the brand's Hypochlorous Mist, which promises to make any "e.l.f.mergency" disappear. And wouldn't that be so handy while stranded in the wilderness?
3 Beauty Products Misty Quigley Would’ve Killed for in the Wilderness
While the girls had other priorities when they were stranded in the wilderness, Samantha Hanratty reveals there are certain beauty products Misty wishes she had with her.
"There was a very sweet scene between Misty and Jackie in season 1 where she was getting frosted lips done," Hanratty told E!. "And I think that would just make her very happy to wear Jackie's frosted lipstick daily."
As for skincare, she mentions the star product from the new beauty campaign she's starring in: the Save Your E.L.F. Hypochlorous Mist. "I also think she could benefit from the hypochlorous mist because I think that girl might be under a good amount of stress, lots of dirt, and lots of blood."
Of course, Misty is known for her curly hair. So, a hair mask would have been the perfect item to have while stranded, and she probably used it when they were rescued.
"I think she could definitely benefit from a hair mask. For seasons two and three, what people don't see is that we've really matted the underneath part, but obviously you just don't really see that," Hanratty told E!. "There is a scene where I'm doing Shauna's hair at one point, and I just think they really are all helping each other with their hair."
e.l.f. Cosmetics Save Your E.L.F. Hypochlorous Mist
This derm-developed face mist is infused with hypochlorous acid to soothe redness and purify blemish-prone skin. It can be used as a toner during your skincare routine or sprayed throughout the day.
MAC Cosmetics Frost Lipstick
While we don't know the specific lipstick Jackie used on Misty, MAC's iconic frost lipstick in this light plum frosted shade is a pretty good (and probably Jackie Taylor-approved) guess.
Olaplex Rich Moisture Hydration and Anti-Frizz Hair Mask
Hanratty recommended the Olaplex hair mask, which promises instant hydration, shine, and frizz control for your locks. Plus, it also seals cuticles and prevents breakage. "The Olaplex mask could definitely help. [It's] definitely one that's helped me in the past," she told E!.
The First Products Misty Used When She Got Rescued
In Season 4, we're hoping we'll see the girls get rescued and go back to society. And while we're excited to see the development of the teen characters grow into the adult versions we know, there is one question the beauty-obsessed among us are wondering: the first products the girls got when they got back.
According to Hanratty, Misty went for hygiene essentials and a little (or a lot) of volume for her hair. "Girl needs deodorant. Bad. And a razor," she told E!. "Lots of hygiene products,"
"Actually, I'm so excited for you to see she definitely is using hair spray. There's a lot of hairspray that's going into this season for Misty," Hanratty said. "I like to think that Misty's fashion is still stuck in the 80s. At least, my version of Misty is still stuck in the 80s. So while everybody else is like now mid-90s, she's still kind of stuck."
IGK Good Behavior Flexible Hairspray
Will Misty be good this upcoming season? We don't know, but according to Hanratty, she will be using lots of hairspray. And maybe IGK's Good Behavior Hairspray is exactly what Misty needs.
Secret Clinical Strength 100HR Sweat & Odor Protection Antiperspirant Deodorant
We know Misty is constantly stressing out and anxious—and for good reason! So maybe this Secret Deodorant is perfect, with its formula that's specifically designed to address stress-related sweat.
Billie Razor
There are plenty of razors to choose from on the market, but our hearts (and legs) were captured by the Billie one. This set features a non-slip ergonomic handle in 80s-coded colors, four 5-blade razor refills, and the brand's signature magnetic holder.
Misty Quigley's Signature Scent
When it comes to Misty's go-to fragrance, it's this mall classic from Victoria's Secret that Hanratty remembers from her own childhood.
"I remember when I was a kid, it was a purple lotion that my mom would use. It was the staple of the 90s and early 2000s," she told E!. "Love spell! It's a scent that brings back memories. And I think that Misty definitely is not [someone] who gets to go to the mall very often to get herself stuff. So, she grabs hand-me-downs."
Victoria's Secret Love Spell Fragrance Lotion
Hanratty was so excited to share that Misty would love the Love Spell lotion—with its warm floral scent and iconic purple packaging—that she remembered from her own childhood.
Victoria's Secret Love Spell Fragrance Mist
This nostalgic fragrance mist from Victoria's Secret features notes of airy pink freesia, berry bouquet, moon flower, whipped praline, shimmering woods, and creamy vanilla.
The 3 Skincare Staples Samantha Hanratty Would Use in the Wilderness
Hanratty would keep it simple for her skincare routine during her imaginary wilderness adventure: a cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen.
"I can find a little creek, and I can use the e.l.f. daily cleanser I like. There's a face cream that I use from Kiehl's that could be beneficial. I feel like I definitely could be using some clear skin out there," she told E!.
In her real life, her routine is similarly simple, with a few high-maintenance exceptions here and there. "The older I get, I feel like I'm getting a little bit of high maintenance. I'm like, 'Oh, I'm 31. Maybe, you know, some wrinkles are appearing.' But I still like to keep it fairly simple," she said. "The only thing I feel like I do that's bougie right now is red light therapy."
e.l.f. SKIN Holy Hydration! e.l.f.ssential Daily Cleanser
Infused with hyaluronic acid, this gel facial cleanser promises to lightly foam, gently wash away impurities, and leave your skin hydrated, soft, and comfortable.
Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream
This moisturizer is a staple, and it's formulated with squalane, glacial glycoprotein, and pro-ceramides to help replenish, deeply hydrate, and strengthen the skin's barrier.
Anua Zero-Cast Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF 50
Ideal for acne-prone skin, this oil-free sunscreen with SPF 50 won't leave a white cast or make your skin feel greasy. The lightweight and non-comedogenic formula promises to help control the production of pore-clogging sebum.
iRestore Red Light Therapy Mask
There are so many red light therapy masks to choose from, but this one from iRestore features Red (635nm), Infrared (830nm), and Blue (415nm) wavelength treatments to boost collagen, calm irritation, clarify blemishes, and reduce dark spots.
