Zack Snyder's DCEU Team-Up Movie Easily Dethroned By Devil Wears Prada 2 In All-Time Box Office Charts

According to Box Office Mojo, The Devil Wears Prada 2 has passed Justice League at the all-time box office charts. The fashion-focused movie is now the 176th highest-grossing movie of all time with a total of $663.9 million at the time of writing. That is enough to have it comfortably surpass the 2017 theatrical cut of Justice League, which finished its global run with $661.3 million. Now, the next target in The Devil Wears Prada 2's sights comes from another franchise, The Hunger Games, as it tries to pass The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 and its $664.9 million total.

There is, however, a caveat to The Devil Wears Prada 2's new box office feat. While Snyder retained the director credit on Justice League, the theatrical cut of the movie was largely reshot by The Avengers director Joss Whedon, which might have impacted its box office performance. Snyder's true vision for DC's first live-action Justice League movie would only be realized years later when Zack Snyder's Justice League was released on HBO Max on March 18, 2021. The director's version of the film came with a meaty role for Darkseid, DC's ultimate villain from the comics, and other changes.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 has a reported budget of $100 million. Based on that, the star-studded film needed to end its global run between $200 million and $250 million to break even. That total includes marketing and other expenses, which are not part of the production budget. Given how The Devil Wears Prada 2 is currently at a high box office total of $663.9 million, which is still rising, the 2026 movie has easily turned a profit in the hundreds of millions, making it one of the most successful releases of the year thus far.

The Devil Wears Prada 2's box office was helped by the film's positive reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes, the sequel stands at a strong 77% critics' score and a high 84% audience score. In ScreenRant's The Devil Wears Prada 2 review, critic Brandon Zachary gave the movie a 7 out of 10 score, calling it a "winning sequel," and praising it for its ambition and charm.

In The Devil Wears Prada 2, Anne Hathaway's Andy Sachs returns to help Meryl Streep's Miranda Priestly keep the Runway magazine alive in a new media world. The Devil Wears Prada 2's success opens the door to a sequel, which has yet to be announced.
