Aliza Kelly Shares What's Truly Scary About This Mercury Retrograde
Astrologer Aliza Kelly Reveals Her 2026 Predictions for Each Zodiac Sign
It's close to midnight, and something evil's lurking in the dark.
And, no, it's not Michael Jackson and his, er, thrilling dance moves. Rather, the beast that's about to strike is Mercury retrograde and this time it has a spooky season companion.
Making moves starting Oct. 24, "this retrograde in particular is specifically chaotic because Venus is retrograde as well," astrologer Aliza Kelly explained in an exclusive interview with E! News. "So, we have both Venus and Mercury going backwards."
They'll continue their moonwalk in tandem until they each right themselves on Nov. 13. But until then, noted the AstroloTea with Aliza Kelly podcaster, it's a bit of a double, double toil and trouble situation.
"They have linked narratives right now," said Kelly. "Venus is asking us to question and re-examine what our value sets are. And Mercury is asking us to think about the way that we're communicating those values and what our social expectations are and how we can show up for ourselves by being the most authentic version of who we are. So, lots going on."
But we can promise one treat amongst the flight-delaying, computer-crashing trickery: "It's the last retrograde of the year," stressed The Constellation Club founder. Though, happening in the sign of Scorpio, "It's definitely a final retrograde that's going out with a bang."
Admittedly, most of that exploding will be taking place in your head.

"When Mercury is in Scorpio just regularly, we may find ourselves reading between the lines," detailed Kelly, who's wrapping up her Haunted Tea Party: Spooky Season Astrology Tour with dates in L.A., San Francisco and Boston.
But with Mercury doing its optical illusion dance, "we're not just reading between the lines, we're re-reading between the lines," she said. "We're going back to interactions that happened over the past couple of weeks and revisiting them, maybe regretting them, finding some different perspectives on situations that we thought were resolved."
Ready to overthink? Well, allow Kelly to offer you some expert food for thought first. Here's what she sees in the stars for each sign.

Aries
Rams, be prepared to, uh, butt up against some large feelings. "This is going to be really bringing up a lot of deep emotions, big reckonings and reconsiderations over who's in charge, who has the power," astrologer Aliza Kelly told E! News of the Oct. 24 Mercury retrograde, noting Aries will become "astutely aware" if they're unable to speak their truth "and articulate what's really going on."
So, dig deep to discover that voice. Noted Kelly, "They're going to want to find ways to express their agency and take their power back."

Taurus
This will be an ideal time for Taureans to examine their herd. "This is about partnerships," explained the AstroloTea with Aliza Kelly podcaster. "It's going to be a test of: 'Do you feel comfortable in these partnerships? Do you feel like you can really communicate what your needs are?'"
And this evaluation shouldn't be limited to just romantic partners, she stressed: "This is also professional partnerships, collaborations, close friendships. These are the closest people to us, and this is a reckoning for Taurus to make sure that they feel like they are being heard."

Gemini
Geminis are going to examine how to best mix business and pleasure. "It's about their habits and routines," noted Kelly. "So it's really looking at the way that Gemini is spending their time, how they are moving through their day and ensuring that they have enough time to be able to focus on the things that actually inspire them."
And if they find they're not satisfying both sides, twin signs will want to "redirect energy to make sure that they are able to attend to their myriad curiosities," she continued, "and that they don't feel like they're just living their life for other people."

Cancer
Crabs, sidle on up to that project you may have set aside. For Cancer signs, this retrograde is about "reclaiming the creative pursuits and their artistic vision," said Kelly, "which could look like returning to some conversations or creative ideas that they had put on the back burner."
Whether that hobby was neglected because due to lack of time or talent or they "didn't get the kind of feedback that they were hoping for," she advised giving it another shot: "Sometimes you don't always hit on the first time, but it doesn't mean that you need to give up entirely."

Leo
Take stock of your pride, lions. These three weeks are a great time to examine foundations and overall safety. "It's thinking about how the systems in their life are either supporting them or are sucking them dry," noted Kelly. "It's about being very intentional to not be recreating the types of patterns that they didn't like from either childhood or previous experiences that have been cycling around for a long time."
And, yes, Leos may have to roar a bit, said Kelly, and be ready to "break patterns when needed."

Virgo
Watch your step, because someone in your life is ready to spill. "Virgos should look out for some very interesting tea, some very interesting, shocking information coming their way," Kelly teased. But take time to examine the intel before spreading it around.
"Virgo needs to be discerning about understanding the source of it," she advised, "and figuring out whether they want to pivot in response to the information, or if the information is just nice to have, but doesn't actually change their course of action."

Libra
Libras should bank on a thorough examination of their finances during these weeks. "There may be some unexpected bills coming through," said Kelly, "there may be some financial surprises that haven't really been accounted for."
It's a great time to cash in on that balance this air sign is known for. "Before panicking, it's recognizing that this is an opportunity to take a closer look at spending habits and find a little bit more agency," The Constellation Club founder recommended. Taking a more active role in their finances, she noted, ensures "that they don't feel like they're just being dragged around by them, but they actually are participating."

Scorpio
Feeling like you've lost a bit of your sting, Scorps? With the retrograde in your sign "it's about identity," shared Kelly, and "recognizing where Scorpios feel like they have lost their voice, lost their power, aren't really being authentic to themselves."
To reclaim that spark, she suggested, consider "what are the things that have contributed to that? Is it old fears of being judged? Is it somebody present in your life who's making you feel like you need to be a modified version of yourself in order to be valued?" Then, added Kelly, "find the strength to communicate your truth without feeling like there's anything wrong with you for being the complex person that you are."

Sagittarius
"For Sagittarius this is absolutely a time for deep rest and restoration, slowing down, pressing pause," said Kelly, "and thinking things through in a more meditative, contemplative, more spiritual way, then I think Sagittarius usually gives themselves the time and the space to do."
If you're aiming to make some sizable changes in your life, she added, recognize that will "require that kind of calm nervous system and also true space and solitude in order to really consider all of the different components." Basically, archers shouldn't rush the process as they shoot their shot. Said Kelly, "By barreling through considerations, it's not actually doing Sagittarius any justice for being able to fully experience the totality of what they're capable of understanding."

Capricorn
With Mercury doing its thing, you're bound to encounter some mishaps, goats. "For Capricorn, it's recognizing that there might be changes in the communities, the people and the environments they're drawn to right now," said Kelly. Anticipate "that there may be miscommunications or disagreements unexpectedly coming out of the blue," she added, "and that these aren't necessarily a sign that the ship has sailed."
Rather, you'll just want to re-examine your route. Instead of steering away from certain pals or exiting the group chat, said Kelly, "think about what these different types of friendships are adding to your life right now, and whether or not there could be new ways to step into them or pivot them to better suit the person you are today."
Sarayut Thaneerat
Aquarius
For water-bearers, it's the age of career opportunities. "And with this type of visibility also comes the big vulnerabilities," noted Kelly. "So, it's being willing to be in the spotlight, even if they are feeling misunderstood, even if it doesn't feel perfect, even if it feels like a little bit too scrappy and DIY."
Keep in mind that no one is expecting you "to be the fully formed, 100 percent polished version," she added, "and that there's actually a lot of value in trusting the process and giving the people who are seeing you succeed permission to see all versions of that pursuit as well."
Sarayut Thaneerat
Pisces
Consider diving deep during this three-week stretch. "With Pisces, this is a time of exploration and curiosity," said Kelly, "which also may come by way of really changing your mind about something that you felt strongly about before."
In fact, she added, you may surprise yourself "by looking at a situation that you thought that you really understood and had a very clear moral conviction on, and allowing yourself to see something from a totally different lens, even if it feels a bit challenging at first."
