Dead by Daylight 10th Anniversary Broadcast: Everything Announced (Updating Live)
As months of teases come to a head, Behaviour Interactive is ready to unpack major reveals with its big Dead by Daylight 10th Anniversary Broadcast, and we're here to gather all of the highlights.
Through ups, downs, and steel beams named Jim, Dead by Daylight has survived 10 years as not only an endlessly mutating asymmetrical horror game but also an enormously popular multiplayer game in general. Since its original release on June 14, 2016, Behaviour has injected a collection of original Killers and Survivors, as well as an ever-expanding roster of licensed collaborations that have seen franchises like Child's Play, Halloween, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Resident Evil, Saw, Silent Hill, Alien, Five Nights at Freddy's, and many, many more enter the fray.
As Dead by Daylight rolls out the welcome wagon for the long-awaited debut of Friday the 13th Killer Jason Voorhees, fans are hoping to see Behaviour celebrate its birthday with potential announcements for more licensed content and that previously teased visual update. While we wait for the show to start on Twitch and YouTube at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET, keep refreshing this page to see everything announced at the Dead by Daylight 10th Anniversary Broadcast.
The Dead by Daylight Movie Is Alive, and It Has a New Director
Blumhouse’s Jason Blum and chief product officer and producer Stephen Mulrooney joined the 10th Anniversary Broadcast stage to talk about the previously announced Dead by Daylight movie. With the screenplay from Alexandre Aja and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick complete, the team announced that The Damned and The Valhalla Murders alum Thordur Palsson has boarded as the project’s director.
"For me, the main thing is capturing the feeling of playing Dead by Daylight," Palsson said of the film. "The main thing is I want to capture the feeling of looking over your shoulder. I want to capture the dread, the tension, the fear of what's waiting for you in The Fog. I love horror that stays with you after it's over, and that's the cinematic experience we want to bring to the big screen for you guys."
The Dead by Daylight movie will feature iconic locations like The MacMillan Estate and Greenville. It's expected to begin shooting in 2027.
Dead by Daylight The Life Road Chapter Launches Later This Month
Just as players get used to their games being overrun with Jason Killers, Behaviour will introduce a new Survivor-focused Chapter called The Life Road. Set to launch a little more than one week after Jason with a June 25 release date, the content update will add the game’s first Indigenous Survivor, Shane Wiigwaas, to the roster. He'll be played by Reservation Dogs and Fallout actor Dallas Goldtooth.
The Casting of Frank Stone Chapter Announced
In September 2024, Behaviour teamed up with Until Dawn developer Supermassive Games to release a Dead by Daylight narrative spin-off called The Casting of Frank Stone. Now, we know the game that started it all is set to receive a Chapter based on the standalone story experience at some point in 2027.
