Jack Antonoff's awkward response when asked about his marriage to Margaret Qualley just weeks before separation

Jack Antonoff had an awkward response when asked about his marriage to Margaret Qualley just weeks before their alleged separation.

Antonoff - who's still wearing his wedding ring - was asked by TODAY on May 22 about his 'favorite moment' from his nuptials in August 2023 after releasing the song, Dirty Wedding Dress.

'Oh that would be impossible to think of,' the 14-time Grammy winner stammered before saying, 'next question!'

Antonoff then dodged another question about 'wedding etiquette advice' before saying that couples should make sure 'there's enough drinks...just tons of alcohol everywhere.'

At 42, the Bleachers frontman is 11 years older than the How to Make a Killing actress, 31, whom he hasn't been publicly pictured with since the Grammy Awards on February 1.

Qualley recently deleted photos she shared in March on Instagram from their big day at Beach Haven in his native New Jersey.

Following his band's performance on the NBC morning show, co-anchor Craig Melvin attempted to interrogate the Golden Globe-nominated songwriter about Taylor Swift's wedding which devolved into an awkward moment.

'No, no, no, no. Umm, yeah. I love being married, man. I'm happy you love being [married] too,' Antonoff replied. 'Did we just have a moment? Are our partners gonna see that?'

People reported Wednesday that the showbiz couple are 'figuring things out' with their marriage, which was 'rocky' from the start.

'They argue a lot, and between her career and him constantly being on the road or working late in the studio, it's been difficult,' an insider alleged.

Another source told DeuxMoi on Wednesday that 'there were many factors that allegedly contributed to the split, with those close to the situation also alleging Jack had long been difficult to live with.'

The Daily Mail has reached out to the couple's reps, but did not immediately hear back.

Last month, the Bleachers noticeably stopped performing Lana Del Rey's 2023 love ballad Margaret, which Antonoff wrote about his bride.

And last weekend, the pop star hitmaker showed up to Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding festivities with his sister Rachel as his date - rather than Qualley.

The Montana-born, North Carolina-raised beauty changed her Instagram handle back to include her legal name Sarah Margaret Qualley instead of her previous handles @isimolady and @isimostar, which referenced Antonoff's 2024 track Isimo.

Qualley and the Sideways rocker - who began dating in the summer of 2021 - might have still been together on March 31 when she shared an Instagram story wishing him a happy birthday.

On February 11, Antonoff debuted his band's music video for You and Forever where the two-time Emmy nominee served video vixen duties by dancing in an apartment wearing three kinds of white lingerie while anticipating his arrival.

Qualley was previously romantically linked to her Death Note co-star Nat Wolff, SNL alum Pete Davidson and her Love Me Like You Hate Me leading man Shia LaBeouf.

And the We Should Talk singer had reportedly dated the likes of photographer Carlotta Kohl, Golden Globe winner Lena Dunham and two-time Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson.

The Blue Moon actress was last believed to be shooting her role as Anna/Helen in Parker Finn's remake of Andrzej Żuławski's 1981 horror film, Possession, alongside Callum Turner and Paul Dano.

But first, audiences can catch Qualley as the medic Cima in Ridley Scott's $110 million-budget sci-fi flick The Dog Stars - hitting US/UK theaters August 28 - alongside Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin and Allison Janney.

Antonoff - who's on tour through December - and his band are next scheduled to headline his very own Shadow of the City Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey on August 28.
