Kyle Busch's Brother Kurt Busch Tears Up While Detailing NASCAR Star's Death

Kurt Busch is pressing the throttle on his love for Kyle Busch.

Nearly three months after the NASCAR Cup Series champion's unexpected death, his older brother is sharing an emotional message about Kyle's life as a dad to kids Brexton, 11, and Lennix, 4, in E! News' exclusive clip from USA Network's NASCAR: Americana docuseries.

"As fatherhood came around for him, Kyle wanted to keep racing and stay active," Kurt—also a retired NASCAR driver—explained in the second episode, "that way, he could race against Brexton. The way that he races, it's really a lot of what my dad taught Kyle and I."

He recalled watching Brexton standing by his mom Samantha Busch at the memorial in Kyle's honor at the 2026 Coca-Cola 600 race, which he was scheduled to race in days after his death.

"To have that moment of symbolization for Kyle and just see Brexton standing there," the 48-year-old tearfully continued, "there's a moment of 'Wow. He's gone and we're not going to get him back.'"

The second episode of USA Network's three-part special—premiering Aug. 15 at 10:30 p.m. ET/9:30 p.m. CT—puts a spotlight on the NASCAR community as it rallied together to honor Kyle at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina.

Following Kyle's death, Kurt reflected on how ingrained racing was in their family, thanks to their dad Tom Busch, a mechanic and amateur racecar driver.

"Finding a silver lining, I reflect back on the days Kyle and I raced anything we could get our hands on," he wrote on Instagram in June. "From big wheels to competing on the biggest stages in motorsports, we were more than just fierce competitors. We pushed each other, challenged each other, and learned from each other."

He also shared a message with his younger brother, along with a carousel of childhood photos.

"Kyle, your passion, determination, and love for your family inspired everyone who knew you," he shared. "No trophy, championship, or accomplishment could ever measure the impact you had on my life and on so many others."

"I will forever be grateful for the memories we made, the lessons you taught me, and the brotherhood we shared," Kurt concluded. "My heart is broken, but I know your spirit will always ride with me. Rest easy, little brother."

As racing fans wait to tune in to episode two of NASCAR: Americana on Aug. 15 at 10:30 p.m. ET/9:30 p.m. CT and episode three on Aug. 23, keep reading for a glimpse into Kyle's life on and off the track.
