Olympic breakdancer Raygun suffers yet another fail as her clothing brand launch bombs: 'This has to be a joke'

Rachael 'Raygun' Gunn's first foray into fashion has fizzled, with her newly launched clothing label, Raygun Threads, attracting just 100 followers and a torrent of criticism. 

The infamous Olympic breakdancer, 39, announced the range on Instagram this week, launching a new account specifically for the brand. 

However, her latest business venture hasn't gone according to plan, receiving a lukewarm reception at best. 

'Design is laughable,' one person wrote, while another added: 'This has to be a joke.'

'What an insult to Australia,' a third commented. 

Someone else added: 'Definitely not buying.'

'Great way to tell who to avoid,' another added.

However, there were some fans of Raygun who stepped in to show their support for the former academic. 

'Go girl, you're fantastic and so is your Mum,' one fan penned, as others said, 'Awesome,' and, 'I love youuuu!!!! God bless you!!'

'I love what you bring to the planet,' another user commented.

'My favorite B-girl,' one wrote. 

The clothing brand, called Raygun Threads, launched on Wednesday.

Offered in the drop is a black hoodie with 'Raygun' emblazoned across the front and sleeves, which sells for $120.

Also on offer are Raygun shirts, for $60, in black or pale green, and also featuring the Raygun logo, as well as keyrings for $15.

There is an additional children's range, with $50 shirts for children available. 

The brand sells 'tees, hoodies, and more made for car karaoke, living room dance floors, and hugging loved ones'. 

Gunn modelled the launch herself, posing in the apparel in a series of images and videos shared on Instagram. 

The dancer has been back in the public eye this month after the launch of her new Netflix documentary Untold Raygun: Breaking Badly.

In the flick, Gunn revealed the truth behind her shocking breakdancing performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, admitting she 'couldn't even break' before she took to the stage.

Gunn, who quit her job in academia after the brutal fallout of her infamous six-minute dance, also agreed that the performance was 'cringe'.

It is revealed she had no formal Olympic training as her head coach, Lowe Napalan, was too tied up with administrative work to oversee her preparations.

Gunn was primarily trained by her husband, Samuel Free, also a breakdancer, going by the nickname Sammy the Free after previously using the moniker Sammy Sex. 

After Gunn's Olympic performance drew heavy backlash, online critics dug up footage of Free's own dancing style and shared mixed opinions on his technique and skill level. 

Gunn admitted in the documentary that in the lead up to Paris, she quickly realised that she did not have the skill to compete against world champions, but said she didn't want to quit and 'regret' not going through with it. 

'I don't like to have regrets and I think that I knew deep down if I walked away, I would have regretted it more and that would have haunted me, rather than going through whatever happened,' she said.

To this day, Gunn continues to breakdance.

'It's been a journey since Paris. I couldn't even really break to begin with. I've been doing gradual pushes this whole way... I know for sure I'm never going to stop breaking,' she added. 

The documentary about Gunn's stint at the Olympics has been widely mocked on social media, with some viewers slamming the former academic and others threatening to cancel their Netflix subscriptions.
