Prince George Is So Grown Up in Uniform for First Day at Eton College
Prince William’s Son Prince George Is Following in His Footsteps With Major School Milestone
Class is in session for Prince George.
And the 13-year-old's parents Prince William and Kate Middleton showed their support as they accompanied him to his first day of school at England's Eton College on Sept. 8.
It's a major milestone for George—who arrived at the campus in a navy blue suit and tie—as he began his own journey at William and Prince Harry's alma mater in style.
For the occasion, his dad matched with a blue ensemble, though he opted for a pinstriped button-up. Meanwhile, Kate's brunette locks fell in loose curls that cascaded perfectly down her emerald green midi dress.
As William, 44, and Kate, also 44, shook hands with the headmaster in videos online, the school official told the teen, "Welcome, good luck and enjoy."
The school—which educates boys from age 13 to 18—has its fair share of notable alumni, including Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie and George Orwell.
While the institution is a boarding school, their eldest son won't be far from home since the couple—also parents to Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8—moved their family from Kensington Palace in London to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor in the summer of 2022.
George's first day of school comes 31 years after King Charles III dropped off then-13-year-old William—also arriving in a patterned navy blue tie—at the campus.
After graduating from Eton, the Duke of Wales—who went on to study at the University of St. Andrews, where he would eventually meet Kate—shared a glimpse of his time at the boarding school.
William, then 18, said in a June 2000 interview, per the BBC, "I've really enjoyed being able to go about Eton as just another student."

This school is not just a new chapter for George. In fact, William and Kate are also learning how to parent a growing teen, including when to step in and when to let their kids figure it out on their own.
"You feel a sense that you need to fix it, for everyone and that I find quite difficult," William explained during a panel discussion for BBC Radio 1's Life Hacks: Mental Health Special in February. "I have to remind myself that you don't need to fix everything, but you need to listen and it's important just to be OK with those feelings and those comments."
While George dusts off his textbooks after a summer in the sun, keep reading for celeb kids on their first day of school.
