Sarah Michelle Gellar's daughter looks like dad Freddie Prinze Jr.'s mini-me as she celebrates 17th birthday

Sarah Michelle Gellar is sharing a rare photo with her daughter with husband Freddie Prinze Jr.

The 49-year-old actress posted a snap of herself puckering up to the brunette who looks exactly like her actor father, 50.

‘Yesterday was my best friend’s birthday @charlotteprinze I’m not sure how you are 17 already,’ the blonde Buffy the Vampire Slayer star started in her Instagram caption.

‘You may have been the child that made me a mom, but now you are the person that brings out the best in me. (Not to mention my biggest champion) Thank you… for being you.’

The couple also shares their 14-year-old son, Rocky James.

Earlier this month, Gellar commemorated 24 years of marriage in a very sweet way as she took fans on a walk down memory lane. 

She took to Instagram to share several throwback snaps from the beginning of her relationship with the 50-year-old hunk.

The happy couple, who have been married for nearly two-and-a-half decades, are now cemented in status as one of Hollywood's longest-lasting love stories.

Gellar and Prinze were friends first and then dated for two years before going on to tie the knot in 2002.

The pair first met on the set of the 1997 horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Gellar included several snaps seemingly from that era.

The actress captioned the gallery: '@realfreddieprinze can you imagine telling these kids where they would be 24 years later (well tech 26… but 24 married) #happyanniversary.'

It has been a wonderful year of celebrating milestones for the couple as Prinze Jr celebrated his 50th birthday in March.

Prinze Jr previously recalled the early days of their relationship at the premiere of the reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer last year.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, he said: 'We were friends for a good couple of years before any sort of date happened. 

'We met on that movie and became really close, really good friends,' he explained.

'We lived ten minutes away from each other, so we made it a point to maintain the friendship, and it turned into something else.'

He also previously revealed that their first date was accidental after a group dinner unexpectedly became a dinner for two.

'We were supposed to go out with a group of people, and everybody else bailed… so it was just the two of us,' Prinze Jr said on The Howard Stern Show.

They dated for a few years before Freddie popped the question in 2001.

The couple has never revealed the details of the proposal, with Gellar previously saying: 'I didn't want a big public proposal. I wanted something private.'

After getting married, the pair also worked together on a number of projects, including the live-action Scooby-Doo movie, which was released in 2002, as well as the 2004 sequel, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

The pair also both voice characters in the 2006 animated film Happily N'Ever After.

A few years later, they expanded their family, welcoming their first child in 2009 and their second in 2012.
