Selma Blair Wasn't Feeling Great Before Alleged Airplane Incident

Selma Blair gave insight into her well-being hours before an unfortunate event.

Before the Cruel Intentions actress was detained for attacking the crew while onboard a Delta Airlines flight Oct. 11, she shared she wasn’t feeling well before the incident.

Indeed, in an Oct. 11 Instagram post featuring photos from her recent travels, one user commented, “I’m so happy [you’re] feeling great and doing great and making new memories!”

But Blair—who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2018—clarified that her post didn’t tell the full story.

“I’m. It [sic] great,” she replied. “I’m sad. I’m grateful. I hope. I am not great.”

Blair had captioned the post, “From LA to New Mexico to La to nyc to LA Scout and I have been busy. I miss you.”

The Legally Blonde alum was arrested after allegedly attacking crew while onboard a Delta Airlines flight traveling between Los Angeles and New York City, the New York Port Authority confirmed to E! News.

Blair was taken into custody, according to the NY Port Authority, and transported to the hospital for evaluation after the flight. (Two flight attendants have reported injuries, and one was also transported to the hospital for further evaluation, per the NY Port Authority.)

In response to the incident, her rep spoke out, sharing that the actress "experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct."

"Upon landing," her spokesperson told E! News in a statement Oct. 12, "she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition."

The 54-year-old was charged with two counts of assault in the second degree for allegedly kicking a police officer and a nurse after her flight touched down at John F. Kennedy International Airport, according to the affidavit obtained by E! News.

Blair was subsequently arraigned on Oct. 12, the Queens County District Attorney confirmed to E! News. A judge set her bail at $20,000 cash, $60,000 bond or a $60,000 partially secured bond, according to court records.

She has since been released on bail and has pleaded not guilty.

While in court, according to Page Six, her attorney Shawn Barnes said Blair had missed a dose of her prescribed medication, which she uses to treat her MS, and that she’d recently fallen and hit her head.

Additionally, The Sweetest Thing star had worked “extensive hours and exhaustive hours” on set in the days leading up to the cross-country flight.

“These factors coupled with the altitude,” Barnes said, “resulted in a state of severe confusion and disorientation.”

He added, “This was not an intentional assault,” while her second attorney Joshua Reitzas reportedly described his client as “the gold standard.”
