SIRUI Announces Saturn V2 Full-Frame Anamorphic Series with 90-Degree Rotation

SIRUI has officially announced the launch of the Saturn V2 Full Frame Anamorphic Lens Series, representing a significant update to its popular Saturn anamorphic system. Aimed at modern filmmakers and hybrid content creators, the new generation introduces a unique 90-degree rotating optical mechanism, allowing users to seamlessly transition between traditional horizontal cinematography and vertical shooting formats without needing to swap lenses or rebuild their camera rigs.

Dual-Orientation Anamorphic Mechanism

The standout feature of the Saturn V2 series is its rotating anamorphic mechanism. By allowing the lens to rotate 90 degrees while maintaining the correct anamorphic squeeze direction, creators can easily adapt to various production demands.

For standard horizontal shooting, the lens delivers a 1.6x anamorphic squeeze ratio that not only gives filmmakers a wider horizontal field of view but is also designed to provide distinctive anamorphic visual character while maintaining greater flexibility across modern capture and delivery formats with full frame coverage. When rotated for vertical shooting, the lens delivers a widescreen vertical image that retains the anamorphic rendering without compromise. This is an increasingly valuable asset given the increasing demand for short-form video and social media platforms.

1.6x Squeeze and Classic Anamorphic Character

Optically, the Saturn V2 series retains the signature characteristics of the Saturn lenses that anamorphic shooters look for, including classic anamorphic flares and distinctly oval bokeh. Paired with a T2.9 maximum aperture, the lenses offer excellent control over depth of field and exposure, balancing vintage anamorphic character with the clean, controlled image quality required for contemporary commercial and creative productions.

Built for Efficient Production Workflows

Beyond the new rotating mechanism, SIRUI has designed the Saturn V2 series to streamline multi-camera and multi-lens setups on set. Available in 35mm, 50mm, and 75mm focal lengths, all three lenses in the lineup feature a unified 62mm front filter thread and standardized follow-focus gear positions. This consistency significantly reduces downtime during lens changes by eliminating the need to continuously adjust focus motors or swap filter adapters.

Despite their all-metal construction, the lenses still maintain a relatively lightweight form factor. This makes the system versatile enough for a wide range of rigging options, from traditional supported tripod configurations to handheld and gimbal operations.
