Some new Black Ops 7 info got dropped in the CoD Podcast, and my hype just died quite a bit

Wall-runners and jetpackers, I'm sorry. Activision just confirmed there won't be any of that sort of movement in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. In a new episode of the CODPOD (Call of Duty Podcast), CoD senior director of studio communications Stephanie Snowden broke the news that will sadden some and excite others. I'm unfortunately included in the former. Image via Activision "I can confirm no wall-running, no jetpacks, but it will feature an evolution of [Black Ops 6's] omnimovement," she said. "Boom, there you go." Man, I'm bummed. CoD has been burning me out bigtime over the past few years and omnimovement was a shot in the arm in BO6, at least in the first few months. I was hoping a return to some different movement mechanics, à la wall-running from Black Ops 3 or jetpacks from Advanced Warfare would be in the cards for BO7. But, alas. Thankfully, CoD leaker @TheGhostofHope has provided some hope (hehe) for the movement fans, though, saying there won't be traditional wall-running but the game will have "wall jumping" instead, so that may be included in the omnimovement "evolution" teased by Snowden. This info is unconfirmed. Snowden had the responsibility of also shooting down hopes of a Blackout battle royale revival. The BO7 reveal trailer showed characters flying into a big map with wingsuits, which the first (and many think to be superior) CoD BR included. Nope. That's just from the co-op campaign, according to Snowden. The rest of the podcast included a lot of hints and winks towards CoD news coming "later this summer," which will hopefully be another Call of Duty Next event where Activision will host content creators to play and tease the new game. Black Ops 7 still doesn't have a release date just yet, but odds are it will fall on a Friday at the end of October or beginning of November. Stay tuned.
