Strictly Come Dancing viewers have accused Melanie Chisholm of 'miming' during her performance during the results show on Sunday night.

The Spice Girls icon, 52, worked up a sweat in a pink crop top alongside the professional dancers to a fitness-inspired routine.

But while she was dancing with skipping ropes, dumbbells, spin bikes and treadmills, fans complained about her singing.

Some viewers questioned if Mel C 'was even singing' as they blasted her performance on X.

Critics penned: 'Hello X, can someone help me understand why Mel C is miming on a spin bike on #Strictly pls? X,'

'Mel C miming. This song doesn’t require much singing but still surprised,' 'Was Mel C even singing during the performance #strictly,'

'Why did they bother putting a microphone on Mel C?' 'Just seen Mel C on m Strictly with what can only be described as the worst miming performance of a generation,'

However, many fans argued Mel C looked and sounded 'incredible' as they defended her performance on social media.

Viewers penned: 'Mel C looks good,' 'great performance', 'Can’t beat Mel C and the Professional Dancers….',

'As if we needed more evidence why is the best Spice Girl #StrictlyComeDancing.'

During rehearsals for the recorded segment, Mel C said it was ‘incredible to be performing on Strictly’.

She was last on the show in 2007, when the Spice Girls performed 2 Become 1.

Mel revealed she has been asked to compete 'every year'. She told the Daily Star recently: 'Strictly is really the only one of those shows that I would consider and I have had a meeting with them — they ask me every year to do it.'

Meanwhile, former England footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips became the fourth celebrity to be voted out of the competition.

The ex-Manchester City and Chelsea winger, 45, was given the boot alongside professional partner Alexis Warr after the judges decided to save actress Jaime Winstone in the dance-off.

Craig Revel Horwood, 61, branded the routine 'a disaster, darling', criticising Wright-Phillips's timing and kicks, while Du Beke said the pair appeared to be dancing different routines.

Wright-Phillips, who is the son of former England striker turned sports pundit Ian Wright, admitted he had made mistakes, saying he had performed the routine perfectly during rehearsals.

Saturday night's show also saw Olympian Tabby Stoecker and Mark Karmalita storm to the top of the leaderboard with 37 points for their Couple's Choice, earning the first 10s of the series from judges Anton Du Beke and Motsi Mabuse.

Australian singer Delta Goodrem also made a return to the dancefloor after missing last week's show with a rib injury, scoring 34 points for her rumba with Kai Widdrington.

Last week, former Paralympic cyclist Dame Sarah Storey, 48, and her pro partner Julian Caillon became the third couple to leave the competition after losing the dance-off to actress Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu.
