Influencer Sydney Towle Dead at 26 After Rare Cancer Battle
Sydney Towle's family is spreading the love.
One day after sharing that the influencer had died at 26 following a yearslong battle with a rare bile duct cancer, her brother Austin Towle and mom Elizabeth Marrow reflected on her strength throughout her health journey.
"Hi everybody, we just wanted to let you know that Syd went peacefully last night after an almost three-year-long battle with cholangiocarcinoma," Austin began in the Aug. 6 TikTok video alongside their mom. "She fought really hard, and we're so proud of her. We thank all of you for your support over the years."
Elizabeth also shared insight into the legacy her daughter—who documented treatments she underwent throughout her cancer journey on TikTok—leaves behind.
"We love you and thank you for all of your kind messages of support and love," she added. "We really appreciate it and she will not be forgotten."
Alongside the video, Austin captioned the post, honoring Sydney as "the best sister ever."
"Sydney fought so hard and was always so positive and spread happiness wherever she went," he continued. "Thank you all."
Austin shared that his sister had entered end-of-life care in an Aug. 4 TikTok video while expressing gratitude for the ongoing love their family had received.
"Sydney has been moved to hospice and is surrounded by her friends and family," Austin wrote over a photo of the siblings' family gathered in Sydney's hospital room. "Thank you all for your love and support."
Rest in Peace to the best sister ever. Sydney fought so hard and was always so positive and spread happiness wherever she went. Thank you all.

"It feels weird hearing myself talk because I feel like a different person at this point just because I've been on so much pain medication and other stuff," Sydney explained in a July video. "I'm not gonna lie, every day is extremely challenging with the pain that I am constantly experiencing.”
But the Dartmouth graduate remained positive through the journey.
"I have hope that I can do this," she shared. "Every day it's just me taking it day by day. Just keep swimming. I'm just happy to be here."
