Netflix reveals the actor behind an iconic Avatar: The Last Airbender character.

Netflix has released a brand-new preview for Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2, offering viewers a first look at one of the franchise's most beloved characters, Toph Beifong. The featurette introduces the blind earthbender and the actor portraying her, Miya Cech, in the upcoming installment of the live-action adaptation.

The new video shows the cast of the Netflix series and its creative team discussing the importance of Toph's arrival in the story. The featurette also shows clips of Cech working behind the scenes with her fellow actors and blindness consultant Joe Strechay. Everyone in the preview praised the actor's performance and dedication to portraying the character accurately.

Strechay also discussed the production's commitment to accurately depicting a blind character on screen. Toph is blind in both the original animated Avatar: The Last Airbender and the live-action adaptation. She remains one of the strongest characters in the franchise, making her introduction in season 2 extremely exciting for fans of the Nickelodeon series, which also put pressure on Netflix to faithfully portray her to appease the property's loyal following.
