Beast locations for Beastmaster's bestiary in FFXIV
Where to find all the creatures for the Master's Bestiary
Image: Square Enix via PolygonFinal Fantasy 14's second limited job, Beastmaster, has finally arrived with patch 7.56, so now you can collect a plethora of monsters to fight for you. Just like Blue Mage, this limited job is mostly for solo content and can't be used for regular quests and dungeons. Another similarity to Blue Mage: you won't be able to really fight until you run around Eorzea collecting logs for your bestiary.
After being teased by Beastmasters Pagaga and Lyon all the way back in Shadowbringers, players had an inkling that Beastmaster would make its appearance in the game eventually, but now you can finally play as one. Beastmaster also has its own version of Blue Mage's Masked Carnival challenge, called the Crucible of the Unbroken, where you'll need to use a range of collected skills to clear challenges.
Below we detail how to unlock Beastmaster in FFXIV, as well as list out where to find the beasts for your bestiary.
How to unlock Beastmaster in FFXIV
To unlock Beastmaster, you need to meet the following requirements:
- Have at least one combat job level 50 or higher.
- Finish the main scenario quest "The Ultimate Weapon."
- Own the Dawntrail expansion.
If you check all those bosses, you can unlock Beastmaster by talking to the Excited Adventurer NPC (11.8, 13.6) in New Gridania, to start the quest "Strangers in the Wood."

To catch these beasts, you'll need use Catch and then kill the monster. If you successfully catch it, it'll get logged in your bestiary. From there, you can assign it to the various horns to summon them to fight with you in battle.
Below we list the various beasts you can catch in FFXIV as well as where to find them. Note that our list is a work-in-progress as we are still verifying some of these monsters. Additionally, there may be more than one location to find bestiary monsters, but we listed the places that the bestiary points you to and where we were able to successfully collect them.
