Casey Affleck’s Son Indiana Makes Rare Outing at Venice Film Festival
Casey Affleck is having family time by the sea.
The Manchester by the Sea star’s son Indiana stepped out for a rare appearance beside his father and uncle Ben Affleck at the premiere for their new movie Company during the 2026 Venice Film Festival Sept. 8.
For the occasion, the 22-year-old—whom Casey shares with ex-wife Summer Phoenix along with their 18-year-old son Atticus—looked dapper as ever as he donned a black suit featuring white trim on the lapels, hem and down the sides of his trousers.
To pair with the ensemble, Indiana donned a white dress shirt underneath his jacket, a black bow tie and sleek sneakers, finishing off the look with a combed-back style for his brunette locks.
Meanwhile, Ben, 54, and Casey, 51, kept it classic in traditional black suits, though the Gone Girl star opted for a white dress shirt while his younger brother donned a black button-up underneath his red carpet get-up.
The family outing comes in celebration of Casey’s latest directorial project Company, a gothic thriller starring Nick Nolte, Ben Mendelsohn, Adelaide Clemens, Scoot McNairy, Emily Alyn Lind and Caylee Cowan.
But what has made the film all the more special is Casey’s kids’ involvement.
Indeed, not only is Ben onboard as a producer, but both of Casey’s sons make appearances in the project, which is why the Light of My Life actor called working on the movie one of the “best professional experiences” of his life.

“I think they grew up around it and had some interest in it and a sort of innate understanding of what it was,” Casey explained during a press conference at the festival. “Like I did, my dad worked in the theater for many years. And so it’s passed down, I suppose, which is a really nice thing. And they were willing to be a part of this.”
As for how their casting in the film came to be?
“I was sitting around the house doing read-throughs of this script over and over, and I would have my two kids read the younger and older teens, and they were fantastic,” Casey said. “I got to the point where I was there in pre-production, and I had a cast and film and they were willing to show up and do it.”

Plus, it seems the stars aligned for his boys to take on the challenge.
“The younger one had a spring break from high school of a week or so, and that was kind of all we needed them for,” he continued. “And Indiana, the older one, he showed up and he played this part and stayed every single day and worked in the other departments and shoveled snow and carried light stands around and never complained or rarely complained.”
“They were amazing,” he added. “I would do it over and over again if I could.”
