CMND-100 Advances Into Phase IIa Testing

Clearmind has enrolled six patients in the Phase IIa portion of its ongoing Phase I/IIa clinical program. Three patients enrolled at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, while three joined at Hadassah Medical Center. The latest phase follows earlier safety testing involving healthy volunteers.

The Phase IIa trial will assess CMND-100’s safety, tolerability, and preliminary effectiveness in people with alcohol use disorder. Clearmind designed the broader trial to test single and multiple doses across healthy volunteers and AUD patients. Researchers will also study pharmacokinetic measures to determine how the experimental treatment behaves inside the body.

CMND-100 remains Clearmind’s lead psychedelic-derived treatment candidate for alcohol use disorder. The company aims to develop the therapy without the hallucinogenic effects commonly associated with psychedelic compounds. Alcohol use disorder can disrupt health, employment, relationships, and daily activities when people struggle to control alcohol consumption.

Safety Review Supports Continued Clinical Development

An independent Data and Safety Monitoring Board previously reviewed results collected during Part A of Clearmind’s clinical trial. The board recommended moving into subsequent study stages after assessing the available safety information. Clearmind continued both healthy-volunteer dosing and treatment testing involving patients with AUD.

Phase IIa represents a significant development step because researchers will now examine repeated treatment among affected patients. This stage can produce early evidence concerning tolerability and potential treatment effects beyond initial safety results. Still, the study aims to generate preliminary clinical findings rather than establish broad treatment effectiveness.

Clearmind structured the clinical program into four parts covering different dosing schedules and participant groups. This approach allows researchers to compare safety, drug exposure, and early treatment responses across different trial stages. The findings could guide later clinical development decisions as the CMND-100 program progresses.

Clearmind Builds Psychedelic-Derived Treatment Pipeline

Clearmind develops non-hallucinogenic psychedelic-derived compounds targeting neuropsychiatric, metabolic, and addiction disorders. The clinical-stage biotechnology company currently places CMND-100 at the center of its alcohol use disorder program. Its development strategy targets conditions that still have substantial unmet treatment needs.

Clearmind has built an intellectual property portfolio covering several areas of its experimental drug platform. The portfolio includes 19 patent families and 32 granted patents, according to the company’s latest update. These protections extend beyond the current AUD program and support the company’s broader development pipeline.

CMND’s 9.92% closing gain followed the Phase IIa initiation and the enrollment of the first six patients. However, pre-market trading pushed the stock down to $1.8477, representing a 4.76% decline from its closing level. Future clinical updates will depend on enrollment progress, safety data, and preliminary efficacy findings from the Phase IIa program.
