Judith Lucy has shared an update as she battles breast cancer.

The Australian comedian posted an image of her chest on Tuesday, after undergoing a double mastectomy earlier this month.

'So I'm out of hospital which, despite the incredible care I received, was a lot like a long-haul flight: no fresh air, people waking you up the whole time, food you look forward to and then don't want to eat and, of course, you can't wait for it to be over,' the 58-year-old wrote on Instagram.

'Admittedly when you land at Heathrow you do generally still have both your breasts. Anyway, FINALLY my ballet career can begin!' she joked.

Judith then disclosed some good news, indicating that no cancer was found in her lymph nodes.

'I'm not going to pretend that no longer having melons isn't super weird but it looks like it's not in my nodes which, as a friend who has dealt way too much with breast cancer said, "is like winning the cancer lottery",' she wrote.

Judith then disclosed some good news, indicating that no cancer was found in her lymph nodes. 'I'm not going to pretend that no longer having melons isn't super weird,' she said

'I'm not exactly at the point where I'm viewing this all as "a gift" but I'm so grateful it was caught so early.'

She added: 'Again (and as Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close) whether it's a mammogram or self-examination, check those sweater puppies out!'

The performer said in an interview last week that no longer having her breasts will 'be a shock' and she'll have to overhaul her wardrobe, but she was not choosing to undergo a reconstruction.

'It's incredibly weird. It's gonna be surreal when I wake up on Friday and my ladies are no longer with me. I love my ladies,' she told ABC Melbourne radio.

'A male comedian, who shall remain nameless, texted me to say, "Comedy's greatest breasts". Sorry to everyone else.

'I think if I were younger I would make a different decision, but I know the recovery time will be a lot less. I think I'm pretty happy with that decision.'

The comedian paid tribute to her breasts in an Instagram post hours before the surgery

Judith had shared a candid hospital photo capturing the moment she learned she would need a mastectomy following her shock breast cancer diagnosis

Judith said that she had '40 great years' with her breasts and could accept no longer having them.

'I totally understand why people would get the reconstruction, but I think I'm going to feel okay,' she said.

'It's really going to screw up my wardrobe, but I think I'll be okay.'

Days earlier, Judith had shared a candid hospital photo capturing the moment she learned she would need a mastectomy following her shock breast cancer diagnosis.

The Crackerjack actress posted on Facebook to thank fans for their support while issuing an urgent warning to women about the importance of regular mammograms.

In the photo, Judith appeared in good spirits as she lay in a hospital bed, wrapped in a fluffy white dressing gown and blanket.

She added the cheeky caption 'Fun with cancer!', proving she hasn't lost her wicked sense of humour, despite her health battle.

Judith revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this month.
