Famous playwright-actor, 68, with connection to Bruce Springsteen steps out in LA... can you guess who?

A well-known playwright and actor was recently seen out in Los Angeles.

Hailing from New Jersey, he acted alongside Tom Cruise and Sean Penn in the 1981 military drama Taps.

Throughout his illustrious career he's also had parts in Jaws 2, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, and Daddy Dearest.

In addition to movies, he's also been seen in sitcoms including The Hughleys, Anything but Love, and The Wayans Bros. 

This star has a link to Bruce Springsteen through his brother, who is a musician in the famed E Street Band.

Now 68, he continues to write, and published a memoir in November 2024.

The star is from Middletown, New Jersey, and is younger brother to E Street Band guitarist and Sopranos actor Steven Van Zandt, 75. 

The brothers were honored with a street dedication in their hometown in April 2024.

Van Zandt was married to actress Adrienne Barbeau, 81, from 1992-2018 and they welcomed twin sons William and Walker, 29, in 1997.

In 1997, she gave birth at almost 52 to the couple's twin boys William Dalton and Walker Steven.

Following his divorce from Barbeau, Van Zandt moved on with actress-comedian Teresa Ganzel, 69, whom he wed in 2021.

Earlier this month, the writer was spotted out and about, wearing a black, collared Nike shirt and light-colored athletic shorts.

He carried a vacuum cleaner and ring light during what appeared to be a productive day in LA.

Van Zandt will soon have a daughter-in-law in model Asalia Yusupova, who is engaged to marry his son William.

The music producer announced his engagement in June, sharing photos from his idyllic proposal in Ojai, California.

He wrote in the caption of an Instagram post, 'Looking forward to spending forever with my best friend.'

And Yusupova replied in the comments, 'i still have butterflies.'
