Larry Birkhead Slams Anna Nicole Smith's Doctor Biopic as Causing “Harm” for Daughter Dannielynn
Danielynn Birkhead is entering a new chapter.
And her dad Larry Birkhead is there to celebrate every milestone, sharing a sweet tribute to ring in his daughter’s new decade.
“Happy 20th Birthday Dannielynn!” Larry—who shared Danielynn with the late Anna Nicole Smith—wrote on social media Sept. 7, adding alongside red hearts, “Love, Dad.” The caption was accompanied by a small photo reel.
In the first snap, Danielynn sits posed on a city stoop, dressed in a black velvet dress, fishnet tights, lacy black socks, black sunglasses and matching necklaces. The second snap, preceding a two throwback snaps of a much younger Danielynn, sees the now 20-year-old sitting at a restaurant in a Ghost t-shirt, her hair dyed red.
In his caption, Larry noted that both of his daughter’s outfits were purchased at Hot Topic.
For fans of the late Anna and her daughter, that Danielynn is celebrating her exit from her teenage years was the subject of disbelief in Larry’s comment section.
“How in the world is she 20 already we cant be getting old we are still young,” one user wrote, while another praised, “You have done an amazing job. Anna Nicole would be so proud. 20 years already? Time flies so fast.”

While Larry has largely kept Danielynn outside of the Hollywood spotlight since Anna’s death in 2007—which occurred when Danielynn was just five months old—the father-daughter duo have made attending the Kentucky Derby an annual tradition after he met Anna Nicole there back in the day.
But as Danielynn enters this new chapter of life—she is currently in her sophomore year of college, studying forensics—their time at the horse race may be coming to a close.
"She’s almost 20 years old and there’s cooler people to hang out with [than] me," Larry told Access Hollywood at this year’s event in May. "We’ve really done this, and it’s been a tradition and I think it’s something that we don’t know if we’re going to do it again, ever. So this could be, like, the end of our photo book. We don’t know. But we had one hell of a scrapbook if we [don't come back]."

Meanwhile, Danielynn said she’s perfectly happy forgoing the event for a quieter day at home.
"I kind of want to step away," she shared. “I’m grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had and being able to talk with you and share stories, but I’m more of like a stay at home and hide under my blanket type of person."
And in the meantime, she and Larry have years of fond memories to look back on.
As he noted, “At the end of the day, I think that we’ve had a great time at it. Never say never, but we’re out of colors and ideas."
