A new Netflix action series is taking the streaming service by storm.

The platform's new, 10-part action series has earned a rare 4-week streak at Number 1 on global streaming charts, capturing the attention of viewers around the world. Netflix's action-packed TV shows have done well for the platform over the years, from the espionage focus of The Night Agent to the drama-driven competition of Squid Game. Action has been a mainstay for the platform, with a number of high-octane TV shows giving viewers memorable experiences that leave them satisfied with the results.

Such is the case with one of its newest action series, Teach You a Lesson. The Netflix K-drama focuses on a group called the Educational Rights Protection Bureau (ERPB), who, under the approval of South Korea's Minister of Education, are tasked with fixing violence on school campuses by any means necessary. Led by former Special Forces captain Na Hwa-jin (Kim Mu-yeol), each episode sees him and his team dishing out justice, with no legal barriers to hold them back. The show tackles themes of bullying and corruption, emphasizing the harm done to children and teachers if education isn't taken seriously.

Now, Netflix reports that Teach You a Lesson has entered its fourth consecutive week on the platform's global Top 10 for non-English language TV shows. According to data from June 22 to June 28, 2026, the show is currently in the Top 10 for 75 countries around the world. This includes maintaining a Number 1 spot in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, and Vietnam. Its global success coalesces into a Number 1 spot overall for the world, as viewers across the map flock to the series.

The show's success appears in stark contrast to controversy prior to and during its initial release. The show is based on the webtoon Get Schooled by Chae Yong-taek and Han Ga-ram, which has faced public backlash due to its use of racial slurs and stereotypes in one of its chapters. Some have also critiqued the webtoon for its handling of social issues, something that resulted in public pushback in South Korea following the adaptation's announcement. However, Netflix senior director Bae Jong-byung later confirmed these controversies were taken into account upon its adaptation.

Now, despite controversy, Teach You a Lesson has proven popular around the world. It performed well critically, too, earning an 86% from critics and 94% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. It even garnered positive responses from teachers in South Korea, who felt the show's depiction of educational issues better reflected reality and, for many, was relatable. The realism involved in the series may be why it resonates so well around the world, even for those unfamiliar with South Korea's education system.

Because of how well Teach You a Lesson has been performing, it seems Netflix has yet another highly popular K-drama on their hands. It's unclear if this could lead to more episodes, though, considering it's billed as a limited series. But, given how big a global hit it's become, its placement as both entertaining and informative means the show will keep resonating with a wide audience long after its larger popularity fades.
